A wee little blogging question............

I don't understand why people ask; "Who is 'Mike'?"   In comments.  When I put a click-able link under his name....   As in "Mike"...

Did you see the "Mike", in PINK, and in Bold Type and in Italics????

PINK   .      Bold  .   Italics

When you see that, in my blog, it is always a click-able link, to whatever I know a Dear Reader may not recognize.

Don't you click on click-able links?

To understand a posted entry?

When you don't know, what the blogger is referring to?

Perhaps I should do all my click-able links in an awful ORANGE...  Would that be noticed better?

"Wondering"... "Did you see...?"

Did you ever hear of a "Happy Gene"?  :-)  Neither had I.  Until a discussion about SAD and etc.  Someone said that she was very upset, after 9/11,  and her doctor gave her some temporary medication.  It helped her.  She got her "Happy Gene" back.  And discontinued the medication.

 (RED socks)

Getting back to the way, in which this time of year  (lingering of Winter),  can really mess-with a lot of people's equilibriums...  I wonder why?  Not the "Little Why's" of...  Needing to see green things growing, or being tired of feeling cold, or wanting to run out the door, without a heavy coat on, or craving the colors of flowers...  And not even the very real aspect of SAD...  I wonder why, in a basic sense, some of us get sooooo tirrrrrrred of lingering Winter?

 (Learning the scales...)

Wayyyyyyyyyyyy back, I'm sure our ancestors had a very real fear of running out of food, at this time of year.  It being too cold to plant yet, and preserved stocks of food, running low.    THAT was a real fear, and could have really upset/worried them.

 ("Make-believe-room", behind the curtain...)

But we don't live, like that.  If we are in Pretty Blog Land, we know we will eat tomorrow.  What doesn't grow yet locally, we buy in the grocery store.  Our homes have heat.  Our vehicles get us from here to there, easily.  Snow doesn't make us house-bound.  Plus, even when we do stay in our homes, we have access to the whole world, via the Net, tv, and etc.  We can "see" the whole world, from our snug home.  But maybe, that's part of "It"?

(Gabe's form of 'Jingle Bells," softly...)

Today, we can't forget, that in some places, flowers are blooming.  We see up-close-and-personal photos/film of loads of blooming flowers and green grass/trees/shrubs, as far as the eye can see.  Somewhere.

If we couldn't seeeeeee all that beauty, would we crave it?  So would our lack of this craving, help us to not be so upset/unhappy with a lingering Winter?

-chuckle-  Running low on blogging ideas.  Could you tell????  -grin-

Did I link to my book blog (Auntie's Reads  3013), concerning "Vampires In The Lemon Grove"?  Well, if not, here is a link....   Please click here....  Thank you.

BLOGGER  WATCH:

Did you happen to visit "BJ" while her blog was switched to a whole different blog look???  It's back to looking like it always does, now.  But yesterday, it was totally weird.  What happened?  If it happened to her, could it happen to us?  Could our blog, all of a sudden, be somehow *changed*?  Eeeeeeeek.  What next, to worry about?????????????

Eggplant Par... No Pic... Boo-hissss...

Eggplant Parmesan...   Made by "Uncle A."...  Delicious...   Forgot to get a picture...  Boo-hisss...  It was fantastic, though.   So below, is a picture, from the Net...    ~~~~~~~~~    But his looks better!!!!!!!!

 (Source)

For the breading on the eggplant slices, he uses ground up G/F pretzels, so I can eat it.  Granted, there is real cheese in/on it.  But if I take my Lacta*d,  I can have some.  Even though I will probably "pay" some, the next day...  But all in all, now and then, I can have this dish, which I love, love, love.

"Dragon's Keep"...  Another book read...  Read more about it, by clicking here................

One hears about a "square peg in a round hole," as being something which doesn't fit.  But "Uncle A." sezzzzzzzzzzzzzz,   that this is the way they are supposed to be made.   So, where did the "not right" connotation, come from, I wonder????

Just sunlight..............  :-)

For what purpose...?

ADDITION:
All I want is for each of us,
to make our own thought-out and reasoned choice.
................................
................................

I was notified of a message, which is passing around Blogdom...  Which goes something like the following;

"My understanding is that blog world is going silent on Tuesday and everyone is posting this graphic."

-sigh-  I am sure this is being done, in a well-meaning way.  But......

What possible good, will such a Silent Blog Day do???

Certainly it won't do any good, for the survivors.

And how much good, will it do we bloggers?

We blog because it gives us Joy.  If we turn off that Joy of Blogging on Tues., it will make us sad.  It will mire us again, in the total horror.  We will thus, be depressed.  Our depression will wash off onto our personal lives.  It will spoil some of our family's (acquaintance's, spouse's, etc.) Christmas Joy.

How is that going to do any, any, any good for anyone??????

As I said, this movement is certainly well meaning.

But before you join in, please consider my words....

Please...

And then, make your own thought-out and reasoned choice.

About going Silent on Tuesday.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.   But thank heavens for a Blog.  To make contact...

If you are expecting an e-mail from me,  from the e-mail addy I have on my Profile Page,

who knows when you will get it.

Yahoo Mail is demanding my phone number, to let me into my e-Mail Box.

Saying;

"For verification purposes, we will send a code to your phone.  Enter a phone number to receive the code."

NO!  I do not choose to give Yahoo my phone number!!!!!

Guess I'd better look into "How To Send Smoke Signals 101"

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

Is anyone else, in this predicament??????????????

Wheeeeeeeew, got camera batteries, when we went to get corn/melon.  Wheeeew...  -grin-

Btw, we used to have a recharge-batteries-thing, and used re-chargeable ones.  Then, something happened.  We didn't know what the exact cause was...  But we had to switch to not-re-chargeable ones again,  to be sure our batteries were going to last long enough.  ????

See coffee can.   Says *ORIGINAL*.   *Original* means Original, right????
But...
"Uncle A." began to notice a different taste,  in his always caffeinated coffee.

He looked on the back and...  Eeeeeek!  See that chart?  "ORIGINAL" means only 1/2 caffeine!  To get fully caffeinated now, you have to buy "French Roast" or "New York Roast".

WHAT?!?!?!

♥ Does "size matter"...? And other *riveting* matters... ,-)

: ~ : ~ :  : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ :

Since I prefer to see BIG PICS in blogs I read, I want them BIG here in my blog.  I have changed Width Settings, to give me more "posting" space, and less "Background" space.

I'm on a big screen iMac, so it's fine here.  And it's fine, on other big screen Macs.  And probably fine, on big screen Pcs too.  But no one knows what our blog looks like, on any other blogger's computer.

ADDITION:

Sandra at "Mad Snapper" blog sezzzz/commented; "your blog look perfect on my 15 inch lap top and on my big screen desk top. fits perfect on either one."

 So I'm wondering, how-come some are having so much trouble?

: ~ : ~ :  : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ :

I seem to be WAS in a "Magical-Forest-Setting" sort of a Blog Look Phase.  ,-)   Rather dark-all-over.  This makes viewing my photos, more difficult, for some...    I'll probably move on, "Out-Of-The-Forest" eventually, though.
: ~ : ~ :  : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ :

Do you notice that your "My-Blog-Look" preferences change, over time.  Do you move from a darker look, to a lighter look?  Etc.?

Or perhaps, you don't change your Blog Look much, at all.  Which is a personal choice.

Or perhaps, you have a kind of a Theme, to your "Blog-Look"?  As in, always made up of soft colors?  Or always a version of  a "Mostly-White-Blog-Look"?  Or always a version of  a "Mostly-Bright-Blog-Colors"?
: ~ : ~ :  : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ :

I wonder why I like a dark blog ambiance, at times?  And then, why do I like a lighter blog ambiance, at times?  Why do I tend to tiny, soft, flowers for Background, sometimes...?   Why do I want to switch to a bright red/and/white/plaid Background, sometimes...?  :-)

Do you ever wonder about "The Why" of your own personal Blog Look Choice?????????
: ~ : ~ :  : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ :

"Uncle A.'s" Spider Plants from seed, are going marvelously.   We always used to have Spider Plant flowers.  Then we couldn't get them, in plants.  So he grew his own.  And he'll save the seeds, for next year.  :-)
: ~ : ~ :  : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ :

Next door, daugher-in-law's Daisies and Bee Balm are blossoming.
: ~ : ~ :  : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ :

BOOKS!

"43 old Cemetery Road...  Over My Dead Body"  by Kate Klise.  Kids book, but so, so, so cute.

"Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn...   NOT a kids book.   But it seems to be very popular now, so I thought I'd give it a chance.   At first, I was bored.  And I don't  really LIKE either of the main characters.  But then, I kept going...  And now.....  I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW IT ENDS!!!  :-)   So, that makes for a good read.  To me anyway.

Anyone else out there, reading this?  I don't want to discuss it yet, as I have a bit more to go.  Just, are any Dear Readers reading it or have read it???
: ~ : ~ :  : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ :

Also next door, do you see *Bad Kitty*?  Why do I call her *Bad Kitty*?  Because she is brand new there, and has usurped *Lucky's* watching-spot in the porch window.  Grrrrrr.....
: ~ : ~ :  : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ : ~ :

Old "Lucky" is their FIRST cat.  "Uncle A." made a little triangular sitting-spot, for "Lucky" to watch-the-world-go-by.  Ding-dang *Bad Kitty* just walked in and took "Lucky's" sitting-spot over.    Grrrrrr....

You know how "Auntie" is incensed by what she perceives, as being UNFAIR!!!  Grrrrrrr....
,-)

Wellllllllllllllllllllllll...  It IS unfair!  -pout-

♥ Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?

~~~~~~
(Source
My post of yesterday......  I asked a question......   Pretty straight-forward, I'd say.......
If someone was reading my post yesterday, I asked a simple question of said reader.......
"Did my "symbols" show up on their computer screen?"
13 lovely people answered my question.
13 lovely people, took a minute, to comment an answer to my question.
BUT THERE WERE 34 VISITS, to that post.
34...
And only 13 bothered to answer my question.
To me, this is WEIRD!
I am not *BEGGING* for comments!  I asked a question.  I expected a simple answer to it.  But 21 times, it was viewed.......  And they did not bother to answer.
Repeat!  I am NOT *BEGGING* FOR COMMENTS.  I asked for a bit of help.   Help, to know how to post, so my posting will be enjoyable to most people.
I hope I'm not within ear-shot of those "oh-so-busy-viewers," if I holler for real help, in real life.
Rant over...
Will resume regular blogging...
Tomorrow.
♥ *Awfully difficult*...???
(Source)
Since I posted my entry yesterday,
I have gotten 8 comments, on it.
But my blog has gotten 38 visits, during the same time period.
Gracious, but it must be *awfully difficult*,
to type even a short comment.
♥ *Folly* flower plantings... and.........
The *Folly* again, on a lovely spring afternoon.   Looking at it, from the right...
Another pic, taken from the right...  Notice that *window* on the left of the pic above...  See how thick the walls must be?
Then this pic is taken, just as we drove by the middle of the *Folly*.  Again, on the right and the left *windows,* you can see how thick the wall was built.  Wonder why?
To make passer-byes  WONDER, perhaps?  ,-)
Not a lot of blogging inspiration today, I fear.  Some worries came our way, and that puts a damper on a lot of things.  But we can't fret over, what is not ours to change.
I don't usually say such, in my blog.  (about troubles... worries... etc.)  But since we all have something or other, to fret about, some of the time....   Maybe it keeps our blog *real,* to mention such, in passing, now and then.
With luck, my muse will be back on my shoulder, tomorrow...   Or the next day...  :-)
♥ Damn! Blogger's done it again, hu?
This is what I see.............  Above...
"Blogger has a new look!"
Oh baby, does it ever!!!
And I have to wander around,
to find *new ways* of *doing* old things,
in order to use my blog.
:-((((((((((((
If Blogger has not done this to you yet, count your blessings!
But we know, that when Blogger does *NEW* things,
blogging problems follow.
(Source)
Damn!
Blogger has done it again!
I clicked on my usual things, and have to go-round-about,
to get to where I want to...
In Settings, now.
Suppose THIS is the *WONNNNDERFUL NEW* crap-O-la,
which they have been *threatening* us with.
♥Did you have more *gumption,* than I...?
♥      ♥     ♥
Yesterday's post...  Masks...  Living as we want to...  Great topics...  Thank you for your input, with your comments...  And that input, brings up more topics.  I love it, when this happens!  Saves me from just writing, about seeing some geese flying this morning.  :-)
Yes, geese flying could bring up thoughts of spring coming.  Which are all well and good and nice...  But, I am of the humble opinion, that we'd all rather talk about ourselves, than about the weather.  ,-)
We'd enjoy an excuse to look inside of us, and wonder about the *why's* of some of our actions.  Especially when we admit, that some actions are/were not of our own choosing.  When we *know* that we *turn-off* our own wishes....  A lot.   In the past.  And even in the Now, maybe.
How come?  What about making our own decisions?  What about choosing the PATH, which is the BEST for us?  So that the path(s) we choose, make us come to our own Joy?  I don't mean Joy to equal Hedonism.  Of course not!  When we leave Baby-Hood, we leave behind our right to do only and exactly what we desire, at every moment.  :-)
And normal curbs on our behaviour are "no-brainers."  We really don't need some Rule, to figure out that we don't exceed the driving speed limit, or drive under the influenced, or go rob a bank, or etc., etc., etc.  Gracious, who needs someone to put a Law on us, for us to figure out the folly of many actions?
But...What about our choice of our Path In Life?  Should anyone but us, choose that for us?  Should anything,  other than listening to our inner self, choose our Path?  Should anyone allow parents to do so?  Or mentors?  Or advisers of any ilk?
Individuals know their own tendencies.  Listening to ourselves, tells us so much.  Tells us what makes our heart sing.  And isn't that what we would prefer to do with our life?  Do, what makes our heart sing?  In the lovely words of Joseph Campbell, "Find our bliss"?
Why don't we?  Why do we allow others, to make choices for us?  Where is it *written in stone,* that anyone has that right?
But then, when brought up to always *Follow Orders,* how do we attain enough *gumption,* to say NO?  "You say do this, but I know it's not for me!"  Ouch!  Takes a whole lot of *gumption* for a young person to buck-the-Family-Rules.
You Dear Reader, did you ever "buck-some-rules"?  Question why you ''had-had-had to do this or not do that?  For myself, I didn't even think I had the right to question in my mind, the Rules To Live By, which came with me.  Not for over 60 years...  Did you Dear Reader, have more *gumption* than I?  We'd love to hear about such!!!!!!!!!
Or are you still upset with yourself, that you didn't?
So, what about today?  What "Follow your bliss" decision, could you make today???
♡Perhaps a "surprise," for my new Dear Readers...
Grrrrr...  I still have an issue.  My cropped pics show up in my iPhoto Program.  But will not move into my post, in their cropped form.  Only in their original big, dark form.  I'm beginning to wonder if I need a new iPhoto Program...????  My OLD iMac still does what I want it to do (with its new orange cord).  But...  Perhaps this Program needs an update?  Will have to look into this.  'Cause posting pics, is one of my fun things.
Did you see?  "Dallas" is coming back?  -grin-  With "JR", "Bobby" and "Sue Ellen" I guess.  And the next generation.   ~~~~~      Will it float?   ~~~~~      If so, what does this say, for the 'mood of the times'?  People trying to recapture the feel of those years, perhaps?  Not the Greed.  The 'FEEL GOOD' feeling...?
"...the Reagan Revolution, which aimed to reinvigorate the American people and reduce their reliance upon Government"
In the midst of our present recession-depression-what ever you want to call it?  When our leaders tell us that "We are to blame."  That "We have lost our gumption."  That "Everything must cut back", and "Throttle back" (space program),
and that
"We are a lesser nation."
...
...
...
...
Guess I got this, just in time, hu?  ,-)  A membership in the NRA.  (I obviously put a black line over my real name...)  A Christmas present from my next-door son and daughter-in-law.  :-))))  Have a hat and a bumper stickers too!   ~~~~~    No, I don't own a gun.  My *tribe of Damn Yankees* up here, are not into fire arms.   -grin-  But others are!  And I so, so, so, so, so want to shoot a gun!  Do target practice.   ~~~~~    And with me, it's never say never!!!
Ohhhhhhhh the beauty, of the quote below!!!  More wishful thinking, for me.
Oh we are COLD up here.  But no snowy slopes.......
"The night was clear and frosty,
all ebony of shadow
and silver of snowy slope;
big stars were shining over the silent fields."
~Lucy Maud Montgomery
