Fog... And stuff....

Well, I finally changed my Background.  And changed the general Look of My Blog.  Finally!!!  I admit, I did lve my old Red And White Checked (tablecloth) Look.  I did.  But I can always go back to it again.  :-)

Course, if I *had-my-druthers*,  I'd be able to make a PURRRRFECT all-time-Background Look.    Like *You-Know-Who* has...   -sigh-  Yes, if I *had-my-druthers.*  But, I don't.

We are living in a Fogggggy World, in my neck of the woods.  Often times, we'll have fog in the morning, or at night.  But it doesn't usually stay around, for days and days...  And nights and nights...

I don't like it, for driving.  But it does make beautiful Photo Ops....   This is the little woods, across the street.  And the always-interesting-looking old dead pine tree.

"There's absolutely no reason for being
rushed along with the rush.  Everybody
should be free to go very slow."
~Robt. Frost

~~~
Don't you just love the philosophy, behind that Robt. Frost quote????
{What is it, with little boys and dinosaurs?  :-)}
{And how come, we love illustrations of little hands, so...?  :-)}
{An example of teaching...  "Pop" puts a yellow block into the loader thing...
And Gabe "gets-it"...  You can see it, on his little face...  :-)}
Concerning the issue of wearing a surgical mask, to prevent getting or spreading "IT,"  I wish our country was more like Japan...  Where they ALL wear masks, in times-of-widespread-sickness, when out of their homes!  I think it's wise!
Ellen, you wear your mask proudly!  You especially need the protection, right now.  Why not SAY that, when someone wonders, why you are wearing a surgical mask?  You know "Auntie"...!!   I'd say;  "I am wearing a mask, to protect myself from your germs!!!!"
~~~~~~

Perhaps we should all start to wear a surgical mask, when out in public!!!!!!!!   Yes!!!!   Why are we so bashful???  Why do we worry about what anyone else, will think/say????  Why????

Bloggers Unite.

Get our surgical masks, and wear them!!!

i have chosen to stay out of public places until the bug is gone. i go once a week to walmart and i am really careful. i don't think a mask helps, it is what you touch that does it, people cough/sneeze in there hands and touch everything we touch it and then touch our nose/eyes... if the mask worked, japan would not need to wear masks, because there would be no flu.. that is only my opinion, and i promise not to laugh or even look at anyone that wants to wear one.
i love all the photos you take of Gabe, every single one of them is just awesome.

You have fog, we have ice. I walked my little one across the parking lot to the school and by the time I crossed back over to my car (not long at all) even the slushy rain where the cars drive had turned to ice (you could see the water just below the surface, but it was solid). Crazy stuff, that.

Your little guy is a beautiful little one. :)

More lovely photos today, Auntie. They gave me a very nice start to my day...thank you :)

I have no problem with someone wearing a surgical mask in public to protect themselves and others from the flu and cold germs out there. I constantly wash my hands even when I am at home.

It is very cold here today and cloudy...I love it!!!

It may be wise. However, I am not going there. I'll stay home, for the most part, until this latest contagion is past.

Wonderful photos of grand and grandpa playing together. I admire anyone who can get down on the floor to do so.

Foggy...ugh. I feel your pain.

they were telling us on our local news this morning that we do not wash our hands long enough...you should sing the Happy Birthday song 2 times to get the correct hand washing done...I think a lot of people will be singing today..I think masks are a great idea...what ever works....love your photos of Gabe playing...

Hey there Auntie! Where are you? I can't see you through the fog! Or do you have a mask on? :)

I've been seeing a few people out and about with masks on. Saw one fellow driving in his car with a mask. I'm trying to stay home as much as possible. Course, I do have to work and see a few people during the day, but I keep my sanitizer and my Lys*l spray and do the best I can with that. AND I've had my flu and pneumonia shots. Masks are probably a great idea - especially for people who are already SICK and have to get out and be around people!!!

LOVE YOUR PICTURE OF LITTLE GABE AND UNCLE A! My, he's growing so fast! I hope his mama doesn't cut all those luscious curls off to quickly!

We've got the fog going on here too - 3rd day now. Makes me want to stay home and nest.

I know what you mean about the masks - I was in a craft store yesterday and I man was hacking like crazy. He bought 1 small thing that didn't look like a necessity to me me and I wondered why he was out of his house. I was sure to steer clear of him.

Stay well my friend!

Unfortunately there was no way I could avoid the crowds and since Friday, I've been pretty much bedbound with this nasty bug. Fortunately, I seem to be on the mend, but chose to take today off as an extra recuperation day. We've the foggy weather here as well as drizzle. I think I made the right decision.

I have to admit that I haven't worn a mask yet, but was *thinking* about it. Makes one look paranoid, but on the other hand, if one had a cough, it would make one look *considerate*, yes? It's all the way you look at it.

"...free to go slow" - I like that. I've always been a bit slow, slow eating, slow walking, etc. When I was young, my uncle called me "Pokey". He also said that he didn't know I could talk until I went to college...

I see quite a few people wearing the masks around here and don't think anything of it.
It is just not for me.

I like your pretty background. It is lovely.

That little guy is just adorable!
I was going to mention the hand washing happy birthday thing too.
I am old enough to remember that when one was sick, one stayed home so as not to infect others. I know, in part, it was a lack of vaccines, but it still seems a good practice. I will never forget the young child who came into my classroom years ago and announced that his mother said he had the measles. Excuse me, but that put me into a rage.
Love your new background and do have a healthy week!

I don't wear masks but I do wash my hands very often and carry hand sanitizer in my car when I have to go out. It's hard to avoid family, though, when they are sick.
Little Gabe makes a great model for taking photos! He's so sweet!
I do like your new background. So soft and pretty.

My daughter wears a mask when she goes out because she has an immune deficiency. One time she drew lips on it .LOL You always come up with fun back grounds and your fortunate to have the knowledge to make some grand changes. It is always a surprise to visit your blog.

I think some readers might have misunderstand my comment about my experience wearing a mask during the flu epidemic. Like Dee daughter, I have a chronic immune deficiency and have to wear a mask whenever I go out in crowds. I am not just wearing one to because of the flu epidemic. I guess I could become a hermit and stay home, but this would lead to a very boring life. When your immune system is very weak baterica & vruses that would never make a healthy person ill could potentially kill a person who is immumocompromised. That is why I wear a mask out in public. All the time, not just in honor of the flu epidemic.
Auntie thanks so much for the support & cheering me on. Kids love it when you explain things they are courious about. Paranoid Moms fleaing - not so much. Dee, I might use your daughters idea and paint some big old kissy lips on my mask too. Sounds like she has a great attitude towards life despite her medical issues.
The pics of Gabe & Pops are so cute. Love Gabes'beautiful ringlets of golden hair. Glad to see your enjoying the fog.
Where do you store your druthers? Are they easily accessible if you really need them in an emergency? The pastel calico look is a 360 degree change from the red gingham. I don't think I was ready for it to be gone, but you control your show. The new look is very Springlike. Are you tired of a Winter that is only a few weeks old? Don't be jealous of S.B.s multipurpose easy change header. I heard it on the grapevine that she pays someone to do all her techy stuff for her. I made that up, but I bet she doesn't fly by the seat of her pants like you do when it comes to changing her header.
Take care Auntie and don't go outside and get lost in a fogbank tonight. I bet the moon would be beautiful if you can catch it peeping through the fog.
