'Twelfth Night' day...

I hope that you had a lovely

It was a sunny day, in my neck of the woods.  It got warmer, and the icicles are gone. Which is a bit sad...

We got out to the library, and did grocery shopping.  But then, when we get home, the chore of putting everything away, stares us in the face.  Ugh...  This above, is not EVERYTHING, of course.  And since these things are in cans, etc., they can go right into the pantry.  But items in boxes/bags will have to be put into secure containers or plastic boxes.  I so do not love this put-away-chore.

But be glad we can go and buy food!  I know!

See the little red Crock Pot, in the background?  Even before we went out, "Uncle A." assembled the chicken thighs in cream of mushroom soup, with no lactose milk.  And it cooks all day.  For dinner, he just has to do some rice and a green veggie.  LOVE Crock Pot meals!!!

Noticed the sun making pretty sparkles and shadows, on the snow.  But didn't get my camera quickly enough.  -sigh-  By the time I got it, the sun had gone down behind the trees/houses, which keep us from seeing sunset.

But I took a couple of pics, anyway...

While the afternoon sun was still streaming in, through a kitchen window, I got a couple of light and shadow pics.  Another example of "Because I Could" pics.  :-)

Gracious but that does NOT look like the color of my kitchen walls!!!!  Yikes!!!  With the sun, it looks positively *upchuck* color!  EEEEEEEEEKKKK!  LOL.

But the kitchen wreath, on the door to the front hall, looks very pretty!!!  Happily!

Though the sun had left the back yard, it was still visible.  So I tried to get a photo of the sun shining directly at me, with the patio door open...  It's not quite as good a capture of sun/at/camera, as sometimes.  But it was worth taking, for the clouds in the sky, even.  :-)

Good morning from gloomy Wales ... how nice to see a spot of sun brightening things up somewhere. And you still have snow. I normally love winter but it's frost sparkling in good light I adore, not gloom and ever more rain. Your pictures really cheered me up m'dear :D

I love crock pot meals, too. We have a lot of them, especially in the winter.
You still have quite a bit of snow...ours melted almost as it hit the ground. I love it when it's falling...hate it when it's icy everywhere....we stay in a lot during that kind of weather. :)

So you just open a can of mushroom soup and place the thighs into the pot and cover for how long?
This sounds Good!!

Thanks so much for coming by the Back Porch.

I am so happy you enjoyed Slim's blog. Was your problem in commenting to do with there not being any commenting space? I had to look for it. Slim changed her format, recently. There is a number at the top and to the right of the posts. It is surrounded by a wreath. Click the number and you will be directed to the comment section. Hope this helps.
Happy Sunday!

I do not mind the put-away chore, but I do dislike the grocery-shopping chore that precedes it. My least favorite chore :)

i probably average 30 bags of groceries when i shop. i hate it. it takes forever in the store filling the cart. then you have to take it all out and put it on the conveyor belt. i usually pack my own so i can organize it so there is plenty of bagging. then back into the cart and out to the car. into the car and drive it home. then out of the car, into the house and up lots of stairs. then it all has to be put away! there has to be an easier way!!!

Aha! Another thing we are in agreement over. I loathe putting the groceries away. I am blessed that John is the first husband who has ever helped with the task. But, as you say, very grateful that we have groceries to have to fret over putting away.

I am forever seeing a thing that my camera can't capture. Wonder if any camera could...

I hate putting groceries away too.
By the way, what time is dinner? I'll be right over.

I really like the blue sky and clouds picture.

The picture of your kitchen is the same layout as mine!!! At least the part I could see.

I know I'm crazy but I like putting groceries away.

I agree - putting away groceries is no fun. I usually don't even enjoy buying them! I de-package everything like you do. Put the 'stuff' in glass jars or sealed plastic containers.

All your photos were pretty - my favorite is the sky/trees/sun shot!

I don't mind so much putting the groceries away but I totally dislike going to get them. Thank goodness my husband doesn't mind and does most of the shopping. Love, love, love crockpot meals.

I love your sunshine/sky/tree shot. Very pretty.

I, too, love crockpot meals. Aren't they wonderful1
Your photos are always splendid. I especially love the ones with the shadows in them.
What a pretty shot of the sky...those clouds make me sigh. I love to watch the sky. It changes momentarily...and is always beautiful.
Hugs,

Since my hubby is still working, I try to time the grocery shopping so that he'll be home when I get there and can help me unload the car. That, to me is the hardest part for some reason. You have a wonderful kitchen, love the shot of the groceries on the granite. Thanks for reminding me to use my crockpot by showing it in the photo.
Have a nice week!
