Guess what????????? It's snowing again.
Not sure how well it can be seen falling, outside the kitchen window. But falling, it is!
I'm really enjoying re-reading William Gibson's "Pattern Recognition." Loving following 'Cayce Pollard' (pronounce 'Cayce' as 'CASE') around the world, again. Loving her minimalism. And most probably "getting" more of the plot, than at the first reading. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ A friend told me about this book years ago. Read it. Have never forgotten certain snips, of the plot. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ It is so super, when one is really, really enjoying reading a book. :-)
Only a couple of more days, till Valentine's Day. :-) Hope you are ready, if you do/plan anything for it. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Nothing here. I can't eat chocolate. And fresh flowers in the house, bother my allergies. ,-)
One photo, of tea light reflections, in kitchen window.
And another... I'm not sure which one I prefer, so I posted both. :-)
♥♥♥♥♥♥
The "story behind" the tea lights is kind of funny. When "Uncle A." cooks a nice piece of beef, on top of the stove in the old iron frying pan........ Smoke usually happens. And if we don't dooooooooo something, the smoke alarm at the top of the stairs, goes off! With noise to wake the dead!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eeeeeek!!! So when smoke appears, we close both kitchen doors, to contain it. Open windows/doors. (Yes, in Winter!) And I light tea lights!!!! I have no idea how, but candles seem to dissipate smoke.
♥♥♥♥♥♥
And so, I never pass up a Photo Op!!! :-)

than to put it into words."

Auntie, you always come-up with some wonderful photo ideas...what a creative mind you have! I do enjoy your blog so much!
This book sounds interesting...I must check into it :)
We lost power yesterday so today I will be trying to catch-up with my blogging. We had freezing rain and then snow...what fun :)
It quit snowing here and is VERY windy. I love your Valentine's Day banner!
Did you make your own little dividers, too? How darling! Yes, I've noticed that that is true as well...candles dissipating smoke...hmmm...must be a scientific reason. Now you've got me curious and I'm wondering two things: 1. how does it do that? 2. why didn't I think to put it into words?
There are many things that fall into the latter category.
Doing nothing for that evil day here haha and more snow, geez that has to be a pain. Smoke detectors blaring can be one too.
I love your artwork! We don't do anything for Valentine's Day here. Hubby often brings me flowers, and I appreciate them, but I don't need them or expect them. When you get older, it's just another day!
i light candles in the kitchen, on the counter, glade and one small candle in a candle holder. don't know why it works but it does. maybe you should try about 50 tealights outside to see if it will stop the snow...
I didn't realize that about the candles.
Pretty picture of the snow coming down.
Nothing special here for Valentine's Day. Ken makes every day special around here. : )
Nice falling-snow shot! It's very hard to capture it clearly (for my little camera at least).
Mr. M opens our windows every day, except when it's below zero, and airs out for about 5 minutes. I think it keeps us a little healthier and the house a lot nicer-smelling. :)
NO chocolate? Not even heart-healthy dark chocolate? I think you need to switch dieticians. ;)
P.S. Forgot to say, your Valentine decorations are so cheery. :)
Mornin Auntie
I'm notorious for setting of the smoke detectors - nothing burns, but I sure can make things smoke!
I'll have to try the tea light candle thing. I do open windows and can only block the one doorway to the foyer.
Yeah for Valentine's Day!
Leann
it is crazy windy and warm here. i never heard that about candles dissipating smoke?
We've had tons of rain here. Don't even know why I came to work today. I am leaving at 1:30.

More snow!! Oh how I long for the snow that you're getting.
Regarding Valentine's Day, I will be spending it with my cat Ruby LOL.
Cute shots Auntie and WOW...That's a LOT of snow!!
hughugs
Auntie, your photos are very nice. I like the snow shots. Stay warm.xo,Susie
Just dropped in to say Hello! Such SNOW!!! What a different world you live in from mine!
More snow oh no.... Love those tea lights
Good afternoon, Auntie! You do amazing things with light!!!
For everyone who wondered about burning candles here is how it works. It works on the principle of combustion. The flame of candle creates covection currents around the contaminated (smelly/smoky) air & are drawn into the flame. Combustable orodants are burned off & transformed into less smelly odors.
While many of us have gotton into the habit of burning candles in the kitchen, it's probably not very effective because the heat of the candle flame is not really hot enough to combust the smells/smoke. A scented candle helps mask the odor, but unless you are using a soy candle, the trade-off is that the candle is releasing soot into your kitchen and adding more pollution into your home.
Hope thhis helps those who wondered why Uncle A burns a candle when he cooks. Basically it is not very effective. I hate it when something you have believed all your life turns out to not hold water.
Auntie, I have been enjoy all the artsey pics you have been taking lately. You pics of the snow at night were especially good. Also loved the snow sparkles! Are you continuing to paint after all the success you had with your little pink hearts?
Love the pictures of your snow - it looks so sparkly and peaceful.
I'm glad it's your snow and not mine.
We have rain here.
Hugs,
Penny
You are so blessed to have snow. I'm jealous!
For Valentine's Day, I'm going to make peanut butter cookies; they are the favorite of my husband and I love them too.
Love,
Jackie
Here in S CA and it is really cold here too, not the snow but we have lots up in our mountains. Yours looks so pretty, I am going out to an early dinner with hubby and got him a BIG box of chocolates as that is his favorite with some Reese's Peanut Butter cups another one of his favorites. ~~ HAppy Valentine's Day to you... ~~Debb
Your valentine header is really nice...great angle. good thing we can not hear the snow fall it would have driven us all batty by now
Well, Auntie, I had no idea candles chased away smoke...I learn something new every day. Our smoke alarm goes off regularly, too.:))
I loved to see falling snow when I lived in the midwest. Of course I wasn't driving at that time so it didn't matter that it made driving tricky. I dream for falling snow when it's triple digit weather in Texas. LOL
Stay warm and safe
