Remember how purrrrrrrrrrrrfect was the Poisoned Apple, in 'Snow White'? Red, shiny, not a blemish in sight...
It's gotten so, that this is all we see, when we see apples for sale. Shiny, and not a blemish in sight. But that's NOT NATURAL!!! I'm old enough, to remember when apples and fruit, had blemishes. They were not-all-perfect. This was accepted, as normal.
And now... Buying Organically Grown Apples......
Look! Blemishes! Amazing!!! Just like in-the-old-days!!!! I love it!!!
Wednesday's Lunch ~~ A mug of Pea Soup ~~ And on the side, are G/F bagel chips/crackers. With Goat Cheese on them. ~~ And a few peanuts.
I'm trying the Pea Soup again... For some time, I've been having soup for every lunch. And the soups have been very BEAN-FILLED. Like this delicious Pea Soup, and Lentil Soup, and etc., etc., etc. And my gut was complaining. I tied the two things together, as a possibility. And stopped-all-the-beans, for a couple of weeks. I'm reintroducing them, into my eating, but not at such a constant rate. I can have more simple Vegetable Soups, inbetween.
After eating, I have a couple of Jordan Almonds. They seem to take care of that "Mental Need" for something-sweet, after eating. I keep them in the freezer now. This way, they aren't right-there, when I open the cupboard. And also, they are frozen hard when I pop them into my mouth. So it takes longer for them to dissolve. -chuckle-
Why all this showing pictures of what I'm eating???? -grin- Maybe I'm trying to keep myself on-the-straight-and-narrow, as to the healthy aspect of what I am trying to eat. :-)

i like the photo of the two almonds, it speaks to me..i am not a soup eater, but i would like those crackers and you are doing great with your healthy eating.
forgot to say the blemish apples taste better, the pretty ones don't taste like an apple.
The best apples were those we used to pick from the tree when I was a child. Your pea soup looks yummy. It is one of my favorites. You'll probably think I am nuts, but I love hot dogs in it. Can't eat them anymore, though.

still trying to figure out what book of Ian Rankin is the 1st mystery. his book is tough. i love that frog/toad pic. too funny!! he needs a newspaper or something to read. ha. ha!! ( :
have a great friday.
Now if I thought that frogs were cute, I'm sure that I'd find that little daydreamer darling.
Interesting foods...so very healthful. I would love to eat only two almonds and be satisfied. Not going to happen so best to go without.
That is a cute pic of the frog on your blog. And yeah those shiny apples taste like crap.
We buy organic apples here, and they are just like the "good old days.":-) That pea soup looks very good! That is an excellent trick with the Jordan almonds, too - keeping them in the freezer. It's almost like "out of sight, out of mind.":-)
the french say the secret to staying slim is eating soup at every meal! i think i am going to plant a nice apple tree to add to the ones that don't do too well.
That is the cutest frog pic! And your lunch looks good. I'm hoping our 2 apple trees are still living after the drought we came through. It's too early yet to tell.
The plate with the bagel chips & crackers and peanuts looks like a great snack! Gave me a case of the hungries :)
Love the relaxatatin froggie floating around on his lilypad.
When you mentioned pea soup it reminded me of when my nephew was around 2.5 yrs old and was being potty trained. He was over at my parents' house one day and asked what Grandma was cooking for lunch. My Mom told Steven that she was making pea soup. The poor kid looked shocked for a few seconds and then said "Pea soup"? & my Mom again said yes, pea soup. By now Steven was horrified & saying Yuck! My Mom finally realized that he made no distinction between pee & pea. Steve was very relieved that Grandma was not cooking what he had imagined she was. Everybody still laughs about that story twenty years later. Reminds you that kids think very differently about some things they hear.
P.S. I had a wonderful visit home with the family, thank you :)
Those soup lunches are perfect for me!!
Yes, the little frog is so cute.
