First flower to bloom, in "Uncle A's" front garden. A Stella Doro.
It's cold up here. Spring blew away, on all the wind, we've been having. With frost temps possible at night, if one has plants planted outside, they had better be covered, at night. To be on the safe side.
The ferns are coming up.
We are mostly sticking to the usual plan of not planting much, till Memorial Day.
Lily Of The Valley,
But as I have showed you, next door has their gardens well planted.
See the little white "bits," and "stuff" scattered around on the green leaves? They are things falling, from spring- time trees. ~~~~~~~~ Some pale green "bits," get all over the car, and make a mess. Ahhhhh spring......
Well, the Creepy News is, that the Government targeted groups of citizens, by (click-->) using the IRS.
And that the Government has (click-->) obtained AP News phone records.
But the &*^&%$#%^&*^%^% Abortion (click-->) Doc got convicted.
What's that? Lose 2 and Win 1...??? Here in The Land Of The Free and The Home Of The Brave...

Spring sure has flown. As I was walking home from work, I thought the sky looked more like fall than spring. Add the coolness and wind to that and it is hard to believe it is May.
Mary
That doesn't look like the Stella D'Oros I have. Hmmm...I'm going to have to rethink this. Yes, I have my plants in and will cover the roses and the astilbe and the rest of it just better hang tough. What a shift, eh?
Hopefully, there will be more who answer for the first two on your list. I'm thinking it goes right to the top.
Spring is still here near my rear, nice and warm, although we had a thunder storm.
Its been on the chilly side here too and tonight its is supposed to get down in the 30's.
I just learned that the flower for May is lily of the valley. It's my birthday month and I'm going to plant some in my new yard. : )
We're getting frost tonight too - just covered up everything!
good luck
so much bad news in the news these days...someone may fall sooner than later...it is unbelievable what they think they can get away with...
AND the Benghazi cover-up story is still smoldering.
Lots going on in the news...
Sometimes, it makes me sick at my stomach to think about it.
We're getting warmer every day down here!
I hate the news! I keep watching it but I do NOT like it!!
I don't mean to echo Vee, but...my D'oros don't look like yours, either. Your pretty yellow flower looks like an iris. Whatever it is...it's pretty!
I had our furnace running last night, it was that chilly. Such a strange spring. It will be a/c weather tomorrow.
The news...imho, impeachment proceedings should be forthcoming. But, will they?
It was lower 40s here last night but going to be 80 today :) gotta love the unpredictable nature of spring :)
stella is really beautiful. hubby is from PA and he said they never planted their garden until after memorial day. we are having unseasonal cool here today, 60 at wake up which is 12 degrees cooler than normal, but not the cold you have. i love your ferns and have not seen these before...
new flowers...fresh blooms..so much green YEAH!!!!
I'm back. Wasn't sure I'd seen this post. Is that a broken plate I see in your header? I'm sorry it got broken, if that is the case, but it makes a lovely header!
Cold the past two days but suppose to warm up tomorrow....the flowers in your yard are encouraging to see and all that green...Spring has arrived. :)
We had some frosty nights too - but today it was over 80! Go figure. :)
What a very interesting header photo - was it an accident or on purpose? (And are you going to make a mosaic?)
I will never cease to be amazed at the beauty of plants; that luscious green you speak of. Ahhh...
Good luck with your garden this year.
On the other note, I don't have a certificate for you, but imagine it and accept a "citizenship award" from me. :)
Your yard is shping up nicely. I still have things I want to do, taking my time. Sorry you aren't feeling well. xoxo,Susie
