We have Juiced...
And it was good....
:-)
I've never eaten so many veggies/fruits, at one time, in my life. And this hassssssss to be a good thing. :-)
.
There are recipes for many kinds of Juicer Drinks, which come with the Juicer. And many Net sites, have them also. But! WHO FOLLOWS DIRECTIONS, HU????
.
We washed up a bunch of veggies, some fruit, a ginger root (use a little slice)... Followed our Juicer's instructions, on how to Juice them... Put them in and they made, what you see above.
.
Nahhh, it's not awfully appetizing LOOKING. But tastes good! That little slice of raw ginger root, adds a cool taste! I had more veggies than fruits, because I really want us to get eating more variously colored veggies. The added fruit (apple) gave some totally natural sweetness, to it. And the ginger was a yummm addition.
.
If you have a Juicer, use it! If this sounds good-plus- healthy to you, get one. :-)
.
Oh and it wasn't hard to clean either. And most all parts can be put in the dishwasher, if you really want to.
.
See the "black stuff" on the plate. It's called "Forbidden Rice." (Legend tells us that this ancient grain was once eaten exclusively by the Emperors of China.) The new Healthy Eating store has a whole wall of things like grains, and nuts and seeds and etc., which you can measure into a bag yourself. This was the first time we've looked at this display. Wanted rice to go with the (organic) chicken dish... When I saw "Forbidden Rice," and it looked BLACK, I just had to try some. We'll get it again.
.
Ahemmm, yes, I know, the peas above, came from a can, and were not grown organically. :-( But even the Mushroom Soup he made the gravy with, is organic and Gluten Free. :-)
.
Basically, we are having fun.... Trying new things, which are organic and more healthy for us, and taste good. That's about all I can say...
.
Of course, if my energy level goes way up.... And my doc-tests, say I can stop ALL my medications, I'll be sure to tell you. -grinnnnn-
.
Actually, even before this organic kick, I have been able to stop my pre-diabetes-pills. Doc said my testing is fine, so stop taking one blasted pill, anyway.

Good for you Auntie!!!! Healthy eating is paying offf
good to know this about the juicer! i love forbidden rice and make it often!
thanks for letting us know how that juicer worked and keep up the good eating and drinking.
When I had my garden, I used to come home every night and make a fresh juice. It gave me such a 'natural' energy. I still have my juicer, but it is quite an expense to make when you have to buy the fruits and veggies to go into it so I don't use it often
Mary
Not sure I could drink it without hurling, but you never know.
I used to juice but I got so fed up with cleaning the juicer ... you clearly have much more patience than me :)
Good for you!!! Louis Dean was diagnosed with diabetes after his last heart surgery. Since then he has tested well and is having no problems! Of course, I keep him off sweets as much as possible!
Eating well can be a challenge! I like you way you guys make it an ADVENTURE!!!
It sure looks healthful and if you're enjoying it and feeling great, who can argue with that?! The forbidden rice looks very intriguing.
Being able to stop taking a pill is great, that's got to be good for you.
I'd still rather eat my fruits and vegetables than drink them. : ) And I'm doing very good eating lots of them!!
I am very tempted to give a juicer a try....love the header picture...creative :)
I want a juicer....:))
Hooray for healthy eating which enables you to cut back on meds! I am trying (not so hard some days) to eat healthier. If you start feeling more energized, let me know and I'm then buying a juicer!
Auntie, Maybe the green drink with a shot of vodka, maybe.:):) Black rice?? How did it taste. You guys are going to be very healthy. xoxo,Susie
