I love 'Old English Christmas' writings, by Washington Irving. :-)

I finally put this Holiday Decoration together!!! It's Faerie Lights and sparkly balls, in a glass bowl. It does make a pretty display, but it's HARD to DO. All parts of it, seem to *have a mind of their own.* The Faerie Lights don't want to stretch out and stay where I want them. The balls want to roll and fall out and....... But I finally got it done and it's gonna' stay that way! :-)

Another picture of the "Geewilikers" store, downtown. It's an old store, and has 2 front doors. Each front door, is entered between 2 big display windows. So, she has 4 big windows, and loads of room to do lovely displays.

Was going to go down-street at twilight yesterday. But, I *chicken-ed out,* after my nap. Didn't want to go out in the cold. 'Twas the Full Cold Moon and 'twas cold and I am a WIMP!!! lol. "Uncle A." would have gone but.................. Maybe this afternoon...

The thing is, we live in a small city, which cherishes its Victorian history. Broadway is decorated with loads of flowers, in Summer. And at Holiday Time, it is decorated for Christmas. We love it! We appreciate it! So....... We should show it, and celebrate it. :-)

An old pic of the Patio Pumpkin, with snow on it. Snow is gone, but it made a cute pic and I might as well use it. :-)

And now, some delightful pics of Old Fashioned Christmas display!!!
Oh how I would love to visit some place like this!!!
-sighhhhhhhhhhhh-
'Course, technically..... That's not really an 1700's Christmas. No electric Faerie Lights back then... ,-) But it's still beeeeeeeeeeutiful, isn't it? -sighhhhhh-

“The grate had been removed from the wide overwhelming fireplace, to make way for a fire of wood, in the midst of which was an enormous log glowing and blazing, and sending forth a vast volume of light and heat; this I understood was the Yule-log, which the Squire was particular in having brought in and illumined on a Christmas eve, according to ancient custom.”

Love, love, LOVE the old-fashioned Christmas displays. And your bowl all lighted up is sooooooooo festive! Just beautiful.
And to answer your question - yes, Marie L [the crypt I posted on my blog this morning] ---she was a GOOD voodoo priestess [there is a paperback book based on factual events of her life by Robert Tallant. Voodoo Queen [New Orleans]. It's very entertaining and being that it's based on fact, it's all the more interesting. And reads easily.
Also, our daughter [tho divorced from Dan] and her two sons [our grandsons] lost Dan this past July. He died of liver failure. Sad, but expected. He had been hospitalized many times before his death. Sad part is, other than being our grandsons' father, he was so young.
The photo of the Christmas balls in the bowl is amazing! Makes one feel all warm and cozy! What kind of camera do you have, if I may ask? Also, was wondering what city you live in. We are very close to Port Townsend, WA, which cherishes its Victorian roots as well. We LOVE it! :) Never mind that Ella was born there. I'm sure it won't tarnish their good name. :)
Love those old-fashioned Christmas displays, and I love the Christmassy feel to your blog now! Everyone here really seems to be getting into the festive spirit now, which is lovely. Hugs.
Darling!
I decided that I had to come back and say more or you were going to say, "You called?" Ha!
I love those rooms just as you've shown them and I really like the store windows and hope that you get more photos. I also really like your bowl filled with lights and ornaments. I'd copy you, but I have definitely decided I am not digging out any more Christmas things.
Geewilikers! Thoses photos are beautiful. I would like to go with and see these...I love a old fashion Christmas.
Your Christmas bowl is so pretty.
I'd love to walk down the street in your town. Sounds lovely.

Just want to thank you for all the comments you leave on my blogs.
They are always so nice and much appreciated. Thank for all the kind worlds.
Everything looks wonderful! I laughed at the pumpkin in the middle of the street! Thanks for the inspiration!
I LOVE the soft light in your sparkling bowl. Just read through your last two posts - those delights look wonderful. I got the Bishop's Wife a few years ago and love it.
Can't wait for OUAT tonight!
