♥ SUMMER-is-HERE...

(View, from our front door...  End of Spring...)

The weather here was marvelous, for the Holiday weekend, and we made use of it.  He always does, but even I did.  3 days in a row...  Various yard work...  Oh moan!  Oh groan!  Oh pain!  Oh stiffness!  Oh hardly being able to get up and move, after sitting for a while!  -grin-

(First of my husband's Old Roses, to bloom...)

But then, you gotta' do it again, the next day.  And the next.  And the next.  ,-)

(Our back yard Chippy...  Taken through the screen door...  So as not to spook him...)

We are really enjoying watching this little Chip monk this year!  He scampers all around and on the pool cover.  And on the back patio.  And in and out of all the rocks/greenery, around the pool and the pond.  No neighbor's cat this year, to "worry" him!!!!!!!!!!  And I am so happy!!!!!!

(Clematis and Poppies..)

Severe thunder storms are forecast for today (Tues.).  -sigh-  Should take more pics of flowers in bloom, because such storms could beat them down and kind of make a mess of them.

He got lots of flowers planted.  I timed edge by pond, and lay river stones.   After this picture was taken, 'Grand' J. cut the lawn.

All work and no play makes Jill a dull girl, though...  Not to fear, I got lots and lots of delightful reading done!!!!!!!!!!  Oh my yes!!!!  But I'll save the book-info, for tomorrow.

"Summer set lip to earth's bosom bare,
And left the flushed print in a poppy there."

Sweet yard, Auntie - I really like your water fountain - love to hear the sound of running water. I'm stiff today too - worked all morning cleaning house yesterday and juicing my plums to make jelly. But we had a great big hamburger/homemade ice cream supper with my parents!

Your pictures are beautiful. Nice seeing the old truck again. : )
I've seen many chipmunks around this year. Seems more than usual.

Aw, Chippy is a real cutie pie. Summer has hit here with a vengeance. Going up to 90 or more today and the humidity is sky high. August weather. No AC here at work and it is steaming. Still nursing my cold so it makes me feel twice as miserable.

Hello dear Auntie, it's so good to be back to blogging and yes, I will follow your very wise advice of not pushing it when I don't feel like blogging or visiting:-) Blogging should never feel like work, should it!! I've missed you all so much, though, and am now spending some time catching up with all your news.

I'm so glad to hear that you had such a lovely holiday weekend and that much yard work was able to be accomplished. It looks beautiful and I'm especially enamoured with your little pond, so wonderful!!

The chippies are so adorable, aren't they, I could sit there and watch them all day long. We also have squirrels that hang around our yard and you should see them chasing after each other! lol

We've been having some gorgeous weather as well lately but today it's supposed to rain. We desperately need it, everything is so dry. Have a lovely day my friend. xoxo

We are getting the thunderstorms, too. I couldn't get on until after noontime and now I'm hearing the rumbling again so must scoot.

Your yard is looking particularly lush and green and colonial and cute. I love a chipmunk, but they dig so many holes!

Your yard looks wonderful, complete with a cute little Chippy! I wish we could get some rain. It's so dry here and hot and humid. Glad you had a good weekend, don't overdo the yard work, tho!

My favorite pic in this post is of the little squirrel. Don't tell LD! He chases them off whenever he sees one at our place!
