A glass of Champagne, with a slice of peach in it... :-)
In the old film "Saratoga Trunk", Ingrid Bergman insists that Gary Cooper bring her "Champagne with peaches," and I always remember that. So last night, that's what we had.
Strawberries, dropped into a Champagne flute, are more common. But I tell you, a slice of peach in one, is deeeeeeeeeelicious too.

After a busy day of getting the cover off of the pool, and of "Uncle A." putting the underwater light into it, for the first time in YEARS...
And him doing more edging with river-stones and rocks... He had a quick shower and we went over to an adjoining town, to eat. At "The Factory," where I can get a yummy Gluten Free Pizza. And he can choose from the whole menu. I love being able to have PIZZA again, now and then!!! :-)

Traffic in-town is getting very heavy, already. No longer does excess tourist travel, wait for August. We already found we need to revert to our "We-Live-Here-All-Year-Plan." Do errands as early in the day as possible. And going over to eat at The Factory, won't be so easy. As there is the SPAC concert entrance, on the way. Eeeeeeek, when big rock concerts are scheduled. T-R-A-F-F-I-C...
And here is my yearly picture of this old home... Which is so well taken care of. From the 3 mail boxes showing, it must have been made over into apartments. But it is kept up, delightfully. Wouldn't you love a high-up porch, like that? To rock on and watch the world go by? :-))))

(Do you remember yours???????????????????)

i love that porch with the vines. wow on that one. and the rocks look great. i can relate to traffic since we live in a tourist town
Yes, Ma'am, I do. It was a lovely summer with two more to follow. Then I up and married him.
Oh, peaches! Now that sounds lovely if one enjoys champagne. I'm a sparkling cider gal myself, though I'm sure that a slice of peach would be just as nice.
We're not noticing too many tourists yet, though we follow the same techniques you describe. We eat out at odd, odd hours when we treat ourselves to that as we did yesterday. Three o'clock supper works well if you've missed lunch!
I'm still with my boy from a summer long ago:)
Glad that you have your plan all mapped out.
Better that than to get angry of something beyond our control.
Happy Father's day to Uncle A.

yes I still remember my first love ...I never saw him again, after it ended, but untill today I never forgot him ;o))
Champagne with a slice if peach! I MUST try that! I cleaned our fridge yesterday and found a chilled bottle of champagne! Alas, I opened it to find it did not taste good at ALL!! Perhaps I will get a small bottle and try out this clever idea of a peach slice one summer's eve soon.
Lovely post!
I don't have to deal with much traffic since we live in a small town, BUT I have been in the bigger cities often enough to appreciate what hassles one deals with when the traffic is heavy. My son has lived in big cities for many years now and we hear about it as well as getting caught in it while visiting.
That is a beautiful home with the porch. I can see myself sitting there sipping on a glass of iced tea and watching the world go by.
And peaches...they would make almost anything taste good! Glad you had a nice evening out!
I'd love a porch like that. So nice to sat out in the evening and watch people walk by.
Love the river stone and rocks.
Happy Father's Day to uncle. : )
Beautiful olden house. Love those pretty vines.
Your river rock looks amazing.
