♡*♡*♡*♡Racing Season begins soon, and so... All of the city is sprucing up and getting ready. The big *summer cottages* of the summer people, are being readied and grass is constantly being automatically watered and cut and edged and etc., etc., etc.
♡*♡
If you remember, we live across the street to our East, from the whole block, which is one of these big homes/carriage houses. "Secretariat's" owner lived there, years ago. It's a different owner now of course, some horse trainer, and the yard people are constantly working on the grounds. Using those ding-dang loud motorized machines and cutters and blowers etc. NOISE POLLUTION!
♡*♡
I have a few of those "Sounds Of Nature" CD's, which I play, a lot. Sound-of-waves is playing now. I have a couple of bird song ones, etc.
♡*♡
We do have a regional classical music station on the radio, but most of the time, the selection they play is very weird sounding to us. So we can't just use the radio. But the birds and the waves, help... ,-)

(Just a pretty little porch, around town...)
I'm still on my *Greek Isles* kick. ,-) Watched a couple of travel videos, from the library.... On the Greek Isles. And put a request in to library, for "Shirley Valentine" dvd. Remember that one? Delightful... Shot on the island of Mykonos in Greece. :-)))))

(Wave Petunias, in pots, on back patio...)
Late yesterday afternoon, we went out on the front patio ("the stoop") for our before-dinner glass of wine. (l'heure aperitif). It had rained all day Sun., but we thought the chair pads had dried out. But... When we got up, to come back inside... My cotton dress and panties were wet. LOL. I had to *change before dinner.* -grin- But not into something fancy. Just an old cotton dress. And a dry pair of panties. ,-)
♡*♡
Those chair pads have to be put in the sun today! And in the garage, before the expected thunder storms of today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wet *bottom*! Ugh!!!! It really doesn't *go with* the lovely French saying, of "l'heure aperitif". "The Hour Of A Drink Before Dinner." :-)
(Jordan Almonds...I love 'em!)
(Another shot of sun-through-trees...)

My favorite member of the "Band Of Horses" band.

I have an old "walk-man" set, with nice, big, soft, old fashioned ear phones. So much more comfortable than the tiny "ear buds" which everyone uses today. But the operative-word is OLD. The music keeps cutting out. :-((((( -sigh- I've yet to check all the length of wires, running to the player and the ear phones and to the plug, etc. Bahhh-humbug...
♡*♡
I enjoyed listening to it, myself. Sitting in my comfy chair. Not having to make "Uncle A." listen to it, cranked up, on the regular CD player. ,-) Thus avoiding "indoor noise pollution" for him!!! ,-)
♡*♡
Soooo, that's another thing on the List Of Stuff To Do... Check out the old wires, on the old walk-man... Go do errands... Make a Strawberry Rhubarb Pie for my middle son... Etc. Etc. Etc. :-)

Laughing at your wet bottom predicament because it is universally understood having happened to us all, I'm sure. ☺ And is there any more unpleasant a feeling? I think not!
What a sweet porch...
"Auntie", you are so funny...LOL!!! Between you and Muffy today...I'm going to have to change my panties :)
You have a beautiful view from your home...just lovely.
I love that front porch...so welcoming. As always, I love your photos!!! The candy looks to pretty to eat :)
Sweet Hugs,
Jan
Love your photos -- your town must be so pretty. LOL about the wet cushions -- DC has Foggy Bottom, you have Soggy Bottom! You wear dresses??? Impressive!
Peace,
Muff
Jordan Almonds are among my favorites as well. I could sit and eat a whole bag in one sitting...or should I say I used to.
I had to chuckle about your predicament. That's why I am so careful on the train before I sit down. The other day some poor lady rushed in and grabbed a seat, immediately jumping up with her whole backside wet. I felt so sorry for her...but, if she hadn't rushed so fast to grab the seat before an old man who was walking towards it, it wouldn't have happened.

that happened to me last night also...we had a rainstorm blow through Sunday evening...I didn't think of it when I set on the glider..it was still damp I guess...didn't realize it till I stood up...I wasn't soaked but damp...love your photos...
I'm laughing about your wet bottom! Most uncomfortable!
Love the little porch and the petunias are gorgeous.
Not too many of us call it a front stoop anymore.
I'll take a piece of that pie. Sounds soooo good.
You really do live in a beautiful neighbourhood!
And, you made me laugh with your soggy bottom! At least you can sit out - we are having a lot of rain at the moment so nothing ever dries out.
Lynn :D
Seems like there is a never-ending list of "stuff to do.":)
I meant to mention on the last post that I am a fan of Mary Stewart. Perhaps I need to go back and reread some of her books. I read many of them a number of years ago.
Stay dry!:)
Glad that you had some rain - it's supposed to head our way tomorrow night - we need it badly. I had to laugh at the "wet bottom" line:)
Those Jordan almonds look festive to me - I love em too!
And strawberry rhubarb? Yumm!
Leann
A beautiful street you live on!
You really got a chuckle out of me, with you wet bottom. Your street is so lovely, and the photo's are great. Have you ever hear of Pandora. Google it! It is a free music channel that you can pick and choose you style of listening. At nap time its my regular, put in on, select my music, insert ear buds, and relax. I usually don't fall asleep, but the rest of the world thinks that's what I'm doing!!
When I look at your photos, I feel like I am outdoors. They come to life.

Your neighborhood is pretty! And I love your flowers. The wave petunias and cone flowers are gorgeous. About the wet cushions, I just have to say that I wish we had that problem! The rain we had the other day wouldn't fill a thimble, but someone we know just a few short miles from here got 3 inches! Lucky dogs!! Oh well, maybe some day. Okay, pass the candy. :D
