Finally, a pic of the front of this building... all decked out in flags and bunting! I've showed it, from the side, before.... Pic taken through car windshield, which "Uncle A." was waiting for the traffic light....

I love the way this little bungalow is *Prettied-up* with flowers, for summer...

Yet another pic, of that pretty building down street, with the hanging flower pots. :-)

This one is around the corner, from us... These people took an ordinary home, and made additions and really fixed it up.... In a simple-but-lovely way...

Love the way this lady has front porch, so-pretty-for-summer. I know it's a lady, because one day when we drove past, she was out watering her flowers. :-) I soooooo wish I'd see her out there again! And I'd stop and tell her how pretty, pretty, pretty her house looks.

And another shot of it, *just-because-I-can.* ,-)

One of the old, grand houses, on North Broadway. Majestic and meticulously taken care of. Yes...
But I think I like the regular sized homes.... just as well. :-)))))

"Long ago--say thirty-five years ago--a little girl used to wake on Sunday morning feeling that a whole life of happiness lay before her in the day."
~~From an excerpt from "Three Houses," Angela Thirkell's 1931 memoir, recalling the pleasures of a Sunday morning in summer.

i would snap myself silly if i had access to these wonderful old homes, they are all beautiful. i like the smaller ones better than the bigger for me. unless i could have a maid. those planters are awesome. is that an old courthouse in the first shot? thanks for sharing, i love old houses.
I am so in love with all of these gorgeous homes! I love older architecture! Your two photos of the same house, show how welcoming and beautiful summer can be when you have a lovely front porch filled with colorful flowers. I hope that you get see that lucky lady and tell her how lovely her home is :) I've really enjoyed these photos.
Have a lovely Sunday,
Jan
That bungalow is my cup of tea. It looks so cozy, just the kind of home I would love to live in.

Love all the beautiful homes and flowers. You must live in a lovely area!
Peace,

Though the big house is elegant I LOVE all the bungalow houses. I can picture myself living in any one of them : )
Such a picturesque town! Thank you for taking us on a tour!
One of my favorite things about blogging is getting a glimpse into other areas of the country and world. Your area looks absolutely beautiful!! I really hope you do see that lady again. I know she would love to hear you tell her how pretty her house is.
Oops, one more thing . . .
Do you mind if I hop into that pool in your header? It looks so refreshing in the midst of this heatwave :).
You live in the most lovely town...wonderful to see the building downtown decorated in buntings and looking so fine for the 4th. I love that you enjoy small homes as well as the grand mansions. They all have their good points. I'd hate to clean that big house, though I would love to sit on the balcony. It looks so beautiful!
What a lovely town you live in, and folks taking pride in their community!!
I love all the houses, big and small. A house tells a lot about the people who live there or, at least, it is fun to make up stories about them based on their homes.
I wanted to thank you for stopping by today. I wrote that piece and thought of you. No one else seems to care about those posts but I enjoy writing them . Knowing you may find them gives me a purpose.
I agree with what you said about God and people not turning to him.
There is so much to contemplate. I must try to get more into the blog, thanks to you.
