Finally made the Rhubarb Strawberry Pie for our middle son. He had been especially sweet, a week or so ago... And in the "sweetness of the moment," told him I'd bake him a pie. He chose this kind. With my home made crust, of course. :-)))))))
Another of the 4 Corners, in the middle of our town... I have already shown 1 corner, the Bank. And a 2nd corner, the Post Office. On an over cast day, I took this one, through the front windshield while we were stopped for a red light. Not a clear/crisp shot, but...... :-)
♥
Another example, of loving restoration and maintenance!!! Costly, over the years. Believe me, I know this, for a fact. :-)
One Granddaughter will be 14 years old, soon. She asked "Nana" for more funky ear rings. So I have been collecting them. :-)))) We both love kind-of-wild hanging ear rings... And of course, "lovely- young-her" can wear even more funky ones, than "Nana" can. So it's additional fun, to find them for her.
This is actually a side/back porch. The front has only a "stoop," going to the front door. But long ago, the builder took advantage of his site being on a corner... And built this lovely, long, sweep around porch... Facing the side street.
♥
Can't you imagine the generations of children, who played on this old porch....? Especially on rainy days when they couldn't go play in the yard? :-)
Another of "Uncle A.'s" Old Roses, with rain drops ("in her eyes") :-))))
Just another pretty old porch.... And you can see how city lawns are going brown and dry, in need of more rain.
♥
But to tell-the-truth, I'd rather see patches of dry grass.... Than see those fully lush, green lawns, where the people can afford to have automatic sprinkling, all over their wide lawns. I'm NOT denying them the right to have automatic sprinkling systems, if they can afford them. Not! Not! Not!
♥
I'm simply saying, that I'm content to be among those, who keep flowers watered, for the Beauty Of Nature. But don't keep all the grass, green and flourishing. After all! Ding-dang-grass just has to be cut. -grin-
Me'thinks this is the beginning of the Phlox.... But I'm not good, with remembering the names of "Uncle A.'s" beautiful flowers. ,-) I enjoy their beauty. I take pictures of them. Names don't really matter. -grin-

And left the flushed print in a poppy there."

(:
I just love your pics
I so agree with you about the grass!!!
Oh boy that pie looks delicious. Wish I lived near enough to stop over for a piece. : )
My favorite ear rings are the purple.
Love those big front porches!
What a delicious, funky, gorgeous looking post, "Auntie"!!! I always love my visits in your neighborhood~~~
Caring Hugs,

I just adore your town. It's the country sort of town that I yearn to return to.

Wonderful pie! That's one kind I didn't get around to baking when rhubarb was in season here.
You do a wonderful job with your pictures.
Lucky kid, to get his own pie!! Your photos really reflect the beautiful town you live in, and Uncle A's flowers.
It looks like phlox to me!
And you're so right about the grass. You should see the lawns around here - they've all been scorched a deep amber by the drought. (Except for the occasional pampered bright green lawn, which somehow just looks wrong on a street full of drought-bleached grass).
What fun those funky earrings are - I used to wear them like that when I was younger. With age has come conservative earrings. Sigh.
:)
Guess that I'll count my blessings that the grass is still green here.
Oh can I be sweet and get a pie? That one looks so tasty and pretty.
It's always nice to see the homes that you share. I can imagine children playing on "the veranda" as my nan would say. I certainly played on hers.
