Bringing back an Annual Floral Parade... :-)

Old photo...  Isn't that the sweetest thing???  An old picture, from an earlier "Floral Parade."  For our 150th Ann. of Racing (this Season), we are resurrecting the "Floral Parade."  :-)  The First was held in 1894, and continued for years, until it got tooooo big, according to reports.  :-)

According to an official program, the Third Annual Floral Parade, consisted of "magnificently decorated private equipages," over 2 thousand bicycles decorated with flowers, and "the famous Olympic Bicycle Band on wheels."  Whooo-hooooo...  That must have been fun.

Certainly hope our resurrected one, will be pretty and fun too.  It ends with an Ice Cream Social in the Park.  Ice Cream donated by a local company.  :-)

And back to the present...  3 "Grands" over, to have "Pop" fix their bikes...

Still trying to get my picture size, big enough.  But not too big....

"Grands" showing us, some ripe wee, little tomatoes.

According to comments, my blog is now *working* for some, who had problems before.  Not so, for others.  -sigh-

Please keep telling me, of problems you have, with accessing and reading my blog.  With luck, all will smooth out eventually.  I'll keep this setting of only 1 entry showing...  And keep working on the pic size issue.  Keeping them nice-and-big, but not too-big.  :-)

Lilac trees are coming into bloom...

Fruit trees are a mass of lovely blossoms...

"Mike" will be back, next week...  Well, his ghost will...

A Broadway corner...

Gargoyles on top of a building, are moving...

They have to be secured, so they don't fall on anyone...

Betcha' thought stuff like this, only happens in Paris...

Twin Houses~~~Yard Work~~~Fun link~~~"What I meant..."~~~Etc.

(A mirror-twin house...)

Yesterday {click-->} I blogged, that I wanted to do some yard-clean-up.  And I did!!!  The out-the-patio-doors view looks better, and it was good exercise.

(Separate Twin houses...)

Lovely weather continues here, so far.  And "Uncle A's" little seeds are sprouting and growning.  They are growing enough, that he has to turn them.  Since they grow RIGHT AT the sun.  :-)

"In my neck of the woods," we can't be sure of no random frosts, until Memorial Day Weekend, though.  So planting is late, compared to other bloggers.

(Built in 1900, by a father, for his 2 daughters)

If you like Cozy Mysteries, like I do, here is a cute list posted on "The Cozy Mystery List Blog"...   Please click here, to be taken to her list... "Upcoming Television Mystery Movies for May 2013" on Turner Classic Movies Ch..  :-)

(When they were built, they were probably decorated alike.  For a while, anyway.  To show-them-off.  -smile-  )

When I wrote of Catherine Herridge's book {click-->} "The Next Wave," I didn't mean that would-be-terrorists need her book, to learn anything.  They have all that information, on the Net.  I meant that WE need her information.  So we remember to be on the look-out for things like, abandoned back packs, in public places, etc.  And report them, to authorities.

Tiny white Faerie lights...

Pictures of some soft-Christmas-outdoor-decorations...

I do love an all-over-little-white-faerie-light-display.

This is magical, to me...

This is one of the old homes here.  And they use that lovely bay window, to its best extent I think.  With that softly lit tree, in the front window.  Without any competing lighting, behind it.

This is also one of the old local houses, which is reported to be haunted in some way.  Hope "they" approve of the Christmas decorations!  :-)

For what it's worth, I certainly do.

Another for-what-it's-worth.......  The above house is adjacent to "The Castle."--->That huge, out-of-place-looking thing, built a few years ago...  Where they go Over-The-Top with holiday decorations.   Remember Halloween???   ~~~~~~  Personally, I prefer this more gentle approach to Christmas display.

But as always, to each her/his own.  :-)

Geese, and windows, and pies, and... :-)

Kitchen Lights...

We went out for an early dinner on Sun.  We were finished and came out of The Old Bryan Inne about 5pm, and it was perfect timing!  Waves and waves of Geese were flying over head...  Honking away.  It was magical...  They were flying in the *wrong* direction, so they were probably in a landing pattern, for the lake.  :-)  They certainly had to be putting down somewhere, since it was nearly dark.

I was soooooooooooooooo thrilled to have seen/heard them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A photo of "one-of-those-things-I-noticed"...  And luckily, no one was behind our car, so he could pull over, till I took a pic.

Way up at the top of the red brick building...  See those 2 little openings of some sort?  Narrow and with rounded tops?  What Are They???  ~~~~~~~~  Also note, there used to be a 3rd little opening, between the 2 which show.  It was bricked in...

"Uncle A." thought they were a way of letting excess water flow off the roof.  But I don't think so.  Perhaps they were once used as real windows...  Though very, very small.  Think servants lived at the top of old houses.  In not very nice accomodations.  So tiny windows might have been considered enough, for them.  -sigh-

Do you Dear Reader, have any ideas, what they were for, when the building was built....?

Look at that barometer!  Nearly to 'Very Dry.'  Wow, I hate to think of how it will feel, when it starts to drop.  Changes in Barometric Pressure cause aches/and/pains in my ("olden")  joints.

Moon, taken through den window, which looks  a bit dirty.  The window, I mean.  Not the moon.

Frost, on a roof...

Thank you for your suggestions, on freezing/baking a pie.  I had thought of doing this, well before Thanksgiving.  I have to make an Apple Pie and a Pumpkin Pie and thought it would be good to get most of the work done, before.   ~~~~~~~~~~~  But now, I think I'll simply make them both on Wed.  In the daytime.  Because early evening is devoted to "Pop" and next door Son and "Grands" making the Stuffing for the Thanksgiving dinner turkey.   He/"Pop"/"Uncle A." has always fully cooked the Stuffing, and then refrigerated over night, and stuffed the bird, Thanksgiving morning.

Btw, I could not, not, not use store bought crust, or buy my pies...  There would be Family Mutiny!  -grin-
