♥ Look for one, find another...

..*+*+*+..+* *.* *+..*+*+*+..
A blogging friend asked me about a big, humongous, out-of-place, relatively recently built residence in my city.  She had seen it, in its building-phase, and wondered what it turned out to be?  So I told her about it, and took pics of it, to send to her.   So, since I had them in my iPhoto, I figure I might as well use the pics, on my blog.  ,-)

Neither one of us, is a fan of this *castle,* as I call it.  We know what all the lovely old houses look like, along N. Broadway.  And this "thing" does not fit in.  Nor was it meant to, I surmise.  -sigh-

 Approaching it........

Front entrance....   They have a Red Carpet rolled out here, when they have social affairs...
Really!  I'll try to get a pic, the next time it's rolled out.  -grin-

Looking to the left, of the Entrance pic, above...

Going around the corner...   This is the gate where vehicles enter or are turned away.  Of course they have a Gate House, and an employee who allows vehicles in, or not.  (Doesn't everyone...?  -chuckle-)

"October Farm" blog posted that she found pumpkins displayed already, in her neck of the woods.  So I went looking to see if we did too.  Went out to the big Garden place, which is usually a huge "Pumpkin Patch" for Halloween.  But not yet.  No pumpkins here yet.

So then I went back through past Oct. blog entries, to see if I could find an old picture of the huge "Pumpkin Patch."  Nope I didn't find any, but I did find a lot, lot, lot of old Halloween type posting.  Wheeeeee....

I especially found one of our youngest "Grand," next door.  Back then, I was still showing pics of him, on my blog, because he was little and changing all the time.  I had forgotten this Pumpkin Hat that his Mommy had gotten for him, one year.   Oh wow, so cute!  Look!

Oh I am sooooooo glad I found this old pic!!!!!!!  I can guarantee, you'll see this a lot more,
as Autumn progresses.  :-))))))))))))))))

"Bitter sweet and broomsticks,
Pumpkins on the vine.
Will anyone come to tell us,
When it's haunting time?"

Thanks for sharing the pictures of the castle with us. I'd love to see what the inside looks like. It looks like it is placed out of time.

What an adorable picture of Gabe. He's going to enjoy this halloween because he can understand it better.

The 'castle' does look a bit too...grand...nouveau riche? Still, wouldn't it be fabulous fun to have the use of it for Halloween?

Glad to see I'm not the only one who adores Halloween!

We also have a gate keeper who decides who gets in and who's turned away. He's called the dog.

Seriously, living in excess to the max. Not for me, I love the simple life I live now.

hahaha...i like muffy's comment. i guess i too have a gate keeper named teddy! i think those people would have been much better off buying one of the big old houses and restoring it to it's original condition. the castle just sticks out like a sore thumb. your grand is just the cutest. i want one so bad but i just don't see it happening any time soon!

Not really "knowing" your community, I rather like the new castle. I gather that it does NOT fit in well, though. It always makes me wonder what people do who live in such places.

Your grand is simply darling in his pumpkin hat.

No, no pumpkins here yet either. Phew. We still have time.

What a grand looking residence! Our modest house would probably resemble the gate house for that one!:)

The new castle is quite impressive! I'd love a tour of the grounds and inside. I'm sure the inside is equally impressive, too. Makes one wonder if the owners won the Power Ball! LOL! Love seeing photos of the many different and beautiful homes in your area. Thanks for sharing!
Cute, cute, cute photo of your g'son!!

Even if the castle doesn't fit its surroundings, I still love it! I'm so drawn to those huge mansions -- I must have been royalty in a former life! ;->
The pumpkin hat is adorable!

Peace,
Muff

Can you say ostentatious? The 'castle' is quite the place. It doesn't even look real. Have you been invited for tea yet? Tee Hee.

When you find out what the occupants do for a living, let us know! :)

The castle is rather ugly. I wonder what the barn looks like? :) Gotta' say there is some serious money there and also some seriously great landscaping...especially down the red carpet walkway. Wow. Wish I could grow flowers like that. Come to think of it, wish I had a gardener to maintain it looking like that. :)
