(Foggy morning...)
Is anyone old enough to remember the saying; "Pass the carpet sweeper"...? :-) That popped into my mind and with it, the thought.......... Am I alone in remembering it? :-)
"What is the use of a book," thought Alice,
"without pictures or conversation?
~ Lewis Carroll
Toys hand-crafted by "Uncle A." Two for the Rotary Scholarship Luncheon Silent Auction. Two for him. :-) Well, to put under the Christmas tree... And they "WORK" too. ,-)
Pictured this, just because I noticed it, in a parking lot... Don't know what it means though... Oh now I know! It's a joke... That if a Redneck had his car/truck *customized,* it would look like this.
(*Customized* = Really made fancy, "tricked-out," super cool, etc.)
Good news on my reading. :-) If you remember, I loved, loved, loved Madelyn Alt's first book in her "A Bewitching Mystery" series... (The Trouble With Magic). But when I dipped into the 2nd book in the Series (A Charmed Death), I thought the story line had changed. To too much scary-stuff.
Now I like all kinds of *different* reading. -grin- Mystery and wonder and etc., are fine. But TOO much scary, or violence, are not my "cup-of-reading-tea".
But I got farther into (A Charmed Death) and it's fine. A bit spooky etc., but after all, a mystery series can't be all sweetness-and-light! PLUS! There has been a very, very tantalizing HINT, thrown into the mix! Mmmmmmmm.... I noticed it. I want to find out, where it eventually leads. And may not find out, until farther down the line of the books, in the Series. Now THAT is FUN!!! :-)

Alice is right, of course. Is this fog this morning? Our weather continues to be "unsettled." And I like the final quote a lot.
I enjoy the 'light' mysteries too. Have read beaucoup mysteries, but Madelyn Alt is not one. Will give her a try. They are great reading when you don't want dark or heavy.
Since I just finished "Cutting for Stone" and "The Rembrandt Affair", I could use something light.
I have never heard this saying, Auntie.
I love the toys that Uncle A. made! I just had to show them to my hubby and he thought they were all great! But he did have a favorite...the BobCat :)
Love the photo with the fog~~~
Jan
Never heard of the saying, but I do love those toys. Your hubby is quite talented.
Mary
Love those toys! A has a real talent!
Have a good Monday!
I just LOVE your header, you make such a cute witch! hehe
No, can't say that I remember that saying, will have to ask my mom if she ever heard of it:-)
Awwww, Uncle makes such fun wooden toys and no doubt little boys and big boys love to play with them!!
I miss seeing leaves on the trees, over here the trees are now all bare. We raked the lawn over the weekend, so many leaves and pine needles to pick up!! xoxo
Yes, I'd love to come to your house. You make such a nice witch! : )
I love Uncle's toys!!!
I was at the library and was going to get a Madelyn Alt book and I couldn't believe that they didn't even have any of her books!!
I vote for you for Mrs. Witch, or would that be Which? Love all the photos but your new header photo and that of the talented Uncle A's toys are my favourites!
Your witch hat is so cute. The fog picture was really interesting, just a little spooky. Uncle A's wooden toys are great. At first, I thought the message on the truck was referring to some types of "redneck customs" (as in specific activities that rednecks do). It made more sense after your explanation; before that, lots of things were coming to my mind. "You may be a redneck if"....."Not that there's anything wrong with that."
I love your photo....that is adorable...the toys are so cool...I know a little Hotrod that would love them...
I DO!!! I DO! I do want to come to YOUR house to Trick or Treat!! But, alas, instead we will be in Texas on our daughter's front lawn - IN costume - handing out candy and sipping wine from our goblin wine goblets! We will miss our young neighbors and our Halloween traditions. BUT we will be going home the next day with Popcorn Crunch treats for ALL!!!
Sorry hadn't heard that saying before. Those wooden toys are awesome. Love the picture of the tree how it filled the frame.
Don't let the goblins get you Wednesday night.
