Tiki Torches...!!! ,-) Etc. Etc. Etc.

ATTENTION CLASS:

My Click-able Links will now be in

THIS COLOR...

Please and Thank You.

(Sun., still working on Work Bench...)

Today/Tues. is my day, to go to the Allergist.  The doctor's pamphlet says, that on the first visit, there will be Pulmonary Testing and Skin Testing.

(Middle Grand-Son and Dad...)

This (allergy testing) is totally new to me.  I did not grow up with allergies.  Developed them, as I am getting older.

(As far as they got, on Sun.  It's in Son's garage, but pegboard still to be gotten, when it's not raining...)

Finally have to admit to myself, that I have Allergies.  -pout-  Do any Dear Readers, have experience with being tested for Allergies??????

Son next door, put Tiki Torches up, on Sat.  But forgot lighter fluid.  Which we went out and got, Sun. morning.  Then came the Sun. rains.....

But after 7pm, it was still cloudy but no rain...  So they lit them.  And we came over to experience the First Tiki Torch Lighting Experience.  -grin-

Guess my Son was still chewing on something, when he came out...  -grin-

You can see 2 of their lovely gardens.  One more, is to the right, out of the line of this picture.

Oh and, "Uncle A." didn't get bit, last evening, but I did.  While out there, in the humid evening.  A nasty bite, on a finger.  It hurt and was itchy and I had to keep putting Anti-Itch-Bite Cream on it.  -pout-  Why me?????   Why do all flying, biting insects zero in on ME????

And this is just a bird-in-flight, to the left...  And sunlight on a plane, way up in the sky.

Saturday~~~Saturday~~~Saturday

"Pop" and "Gabe," finishing the day (Sat.) by checking out the Old Roses...

Little after mid-day...  Beautiful "Grand"...  Ready to go to new boyfriend's brother's Graduation Party.

Sat. afternoon...  "Grand's" father...  In his FAVORITE  JEANS.  Eeeeek!  Do men in your family, have such totally-gone-but-dearly-loved-clothes???

Sat. afternoon project...  Making workbench for son's garage, next door.

Getting the wood, in old Truck, came first.  Taking middle Grandson along.  Also having lunch at a road-side stand, where lady sells the BEST  HOT  DOGS.

Nope, not Healthy Eating.  But, it's part of summer...
:-)

The big tools, are in "Dad's" garage work shop.

See the old sign, to the top left of pic?  That was from one summer, when 2 oldest Granddaughter's were running "The Compound Swimming Day Care."  Complete with RULES!  ,-)

Lots of boards, cut to certain size...

More cutting..........

Checking the plans, on 'Dad's' laptop, which they brought out into the work shop.  Grrrrreat idea!

This is what it's supposed to look like, when complete.  That part, they plan on doing this afternoon.

And if anyone wants more, I can give it to you............. :-)

(Our beautiful "Grand" Emma, a back view, through the kitchen window, when more get-pool-ready work was being done.)  :-)

Dear Cheryl has wondered if her arthritis pain could be helped, by going sugar free.  BUT!!!!  Sugar free is only one part of what one must do.  I am mostly devoted to a whole new healthy way of eating.  Only doing this, will allow my body to remain mostly inflammation free.  And inflammation-free seems to be the key, if you believe what "is said."

My last bout of terrible allergies/cold ---  Which necessitated doc giving me Prednisone  ---  At same time as we were learning to eat in a fully healthy way  ---  And I had had to be Gluten Free and Lactose Free for some time, already  ---  Allowed me to EXPERIENCE the remission of all my various arthritis-like pain/stiffness.   Without this "Perfect Good Storm" of happenings, I'd never have believed it.

The people who push this way of life, tell you that pains and be eliminated.  But who believes them?  They sound like 'crack-pots,' who are trying to sell you something.

(This is "Uncle A.'s" scroll saw.  To which he added a blower, to blow the saw dust away, when cutting.  I had to take a pic of it, because it has been a PROJECT!!!  ,-)  But he loves Projects in the work shop.)

So far, I am believing those who tell me, that certain illnesses can be helped, by a different way of eating.  "The proof is in the pudding" as it were.

It helps, that our son and his family next door, are doing this Healthy Way of Eating too.  As much as is possible.  We here, are just 2 people.  They are a family of 6.  Naturally some totally healthy protein items, are too expensive, for a family of 6.  So they have to "kick back and punt."  ,-)  But they are not, not, not returning to the usual way of eating.

They are not buying regular grocery store bought meats/fish.  Or processed foods, with labels containing all those unknown ingredients.  Or non organically grown veggies, etc.  They are part of a local food co-op thing, which provides a box of organic veggies, a week....  What ever grew the last week.  It's a surprise!  :-)

And they have quite a little garden, from which they are already eating.

(My Paleo Banana Bread, toasted, with Maple Goat Cheese spread on it.)

I know.  Most of you Dear Readers are sick, sick, sick of this!!!  :-)  And that's fine.  I put these things here, for anyone who might be interested.  And I can point interested Dear Readers, to much, much, much more information.  If wanted...

I FIXED IT!!!

Just this moment, Wed. 12:45pm, I found the solution to my computer problem!!!!  No need to go into details.  I kind-of knew what I had *done* to cause the problem.  So I kept trying to *do-it-again,* and I did, and all is fixed.  Hooray

Tues., after I did the *mess-up,* I stayed off line.  And it was fine.  I still have enough *umph,* to be happy with doing things, around the house.  Shopping for groceries.  Getting what I need out of the library cook-books, which show how to live gluten and sugar free.  Etc.

This is a sugar free preserves, which I got at the 'Healthy Eating' store.  It uses xylitol to sweeten.  Xylitol is one of the sugar-substitues, which my books mention.  It certainly works well, because this Strawberry Preserve is delicious.  And good for me.

Having my computer kind of messed up, was interesting.  In that I was not manic, over it.  I just kept going, and doing things, and didn't have "withdrawal" pangs.   This is a very good thing, in my humble opinion.

I have missed what's been going on with "My Little Posse" of blogging buddies.  But I can now catch up.  And keep relaxed.  Keeping relaxed, that's the best part.  :-)

Just love these pics, of the Poppy bud...  :-))))

"White Nights" is the last book I have read all the way through.  I did leave a click-able link to my review of it, but not sure if everyone noticed.  So I leave another click-able link right here...

I have been starting and discarding books, while sick.  I was very "picky."  If a book didn't "grab me," I left it.  ~~~~~~~  And I have been reading books on the topics of Healthy Eating and Gluten Free and Sugar Free, and etc.  Those, I graze through...  Finding what I need to know, etc.

There be weirdness around........ I have told you!

Oh I'd love that (pale pink hair)!!!  But one would have to Helen Mirren's money, to have a beautician do the perfect dye job.

I was considering the use of Kool-Aid.  But reading up on that (use of Kool-Aid), one must try to not get it on the scalp.   My hair has gotten thinly spaced on my ol' head, with age.  -chuckle-   So it would be nigh-on-to-impossible, to not have it SHOWING on my scalp, in places.  -chuckle-
A cold start to the week...

Shocking photo, above...  Yes???  Dessert!  Purchased from a Bakery!  Here!  Eeeeeek!  Yes, I did "allow" us one-piece-each, on Sunday.  Mine being the G/F Almond Finger, and his being the very decadent Brownie.  And ya'-know-what?  Mine wasn't worth it.  Not the exorbitant price.  And not the taste/fun, either.  Bahhhh-humbug...  This has happened before.  I asked "Uncle A." to REMIND me of this happening...  Before.....   The next time I get this same idea...

Another part of the Weird Sunday...  "Uncle A." and our Daughter, were doing some kind of wood working in the garage...  Cutting a piece of wood, which will be part of our Son-in-law's iron work wine rack business...  The piece of wood was so long, that to cut it, they had to open the garage door!!!   In came the wind chill.   Soon as they were   done with that part, they closed the garage door again, turned up the garage heat, and came in to "thaw out their hands"!!!

I suggested they turn on the fireplace and sit by it.  Which they did.  Looking like people, from another century, kind-of.  :-)  (Huddled around a fireplace to get warm...)

Meanwhile, Son-in-law and "Granddaughter" were in his shop, doing another part of the work.  But they did it, INSIDE!  So Lisa and her Dad have "We had it harder" bragging rights!  ,-)

And of course, it made a Surprise Photo Op, for me!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spent the time, inside, in my comfy chair, reading....  So I noticed the gorgeous PINK sunset effect!

Naturally, I had to run in the den and get my camera!  Never pass up a beautiful Photo Op!!!

Btw, "weirdness" is accumulating, even today/Mon.  I had "it" on Sun.  Later on Sun., "it" hit "Uncle A." computer.   Now this morning, I just hit-some-key and lost everything.  Got it back, but don't know what-I-did...  Ya' know...  Those experiences with a computer.

I am warning you!!!!!!!   There are some silly vibes around!!!  Be on guard!!!

Sat. Gray, rainy, dull, kinda' warm... "Oh bother"

'Uncle A.' made another one of those little wooden toys, which he made for the silent auction, for the Rotary Scholarship Foundation Brunch...   A lady who works with our son, wanted the one at the silent auction, for her son.  But was out-bid.

She told our son, this.  He told his Dad and his Dad said he'd make one for her, to give to her son.  She can contribute to the Rotary Scholarship Foundation, just like she would have, at the Brunch.  She was so happppppppppy.   And he put her little boy's name on it too.  :-)

A nice little story, in the Christmas Time happenings...  :-)

Thurs. evening I began reading "A Killer's Christmas in Wales."  -chuckle-  I got a kick out of the name, because it's soooooooooo difffffferent from "A Child's Christmas In Wales."  ...  Which is so very, very sweet.

And the cover!  Look at that cover art!  A quaint English Village, with snow falling and a bit of a moon overhead!   Mmmmmm...  Delicious....  :-)

But!  I was half way through, before anyone *bit the dust*.  Imagine that!  That's taking a kind of a long time, to get into the *nitty-gritty* of a mystery.  But with all the lead-up...   The character who did end up dead, was a surprise.  Guess that's a good plot, of course.

Village life in the UK, at Christmas, cozy, cozy, cozy...  :-)  I love the descriptions of homes and streets and etc.
Do you Dear Reader, like Cozy Mysteries?  And if so, do you have a favorite type of Cozy Mystery?

Have not yet found my mini calendar for 2013...   Must get going.  Most calendars are way too big, for this spot.  Some are too small.  Need the perfect size, which fits.  And a happy one, which I'll be pleased with, all  year.

As my Subject Line sezzzzzz...   'Tis a gray, rainy, dull, kinda' warm day dawning, in my neck of the woods.  I can't make all those Christmas Cookies, in the calendar page.  Because we don't eat them.  (I won't let either of us eat them, is more to the point.  ,-) )  But it feels like a day, when there should be some sort of a sweet, warm aroma wafting from the kitchen......  S-O-M-T-H-I-N-G...  :-)
