Weather~~~Words~~~Meaning~~~Moods~~~Music~~~

Gabe and Daddy...  "Making" faces, sitting together, at edge of the pool...

-chuckle-  Just noticed that the above picture, should have been rotated.  :-)  Oh well...

Gabe (3 years) seems to have discovered a "new" mood, and how to "display" it.   SAD...

"Pop" ran out of cookies, in his work-shop stash of Cookies.  Now this isn't earth-shaking.  But seems as if Gabe latched onto this fact, and became SAD

Here is another example, of Gabe, showing SADNESS.  He would come in, stand there, just look SAD...  :-)  I DID NOT just tell him; "Oh you don't have to be sad."

Children have a right to "own" their feelings/emotions.  I don't like to tell kids, they *should not* be/feel this, or be/feel that.  I told him it was OK to feel SAD, sometimes.

"Nana" is a great believer in watching what one says to small kids.  At least, I try to be.  Think before one speaks, etc.  "Listen" to the message, we are REALLY sending, to a child.

Our understanding of words, and their understanding of them, differ greatly...  Especially when very young.  Care-givers need to keep this in mind.  In my humble opinion.

Another steamy weekend...  On Sunday, we had A/C on inside.  I went out to take pics of family, in the pool.  My camera lens got fogged up.

Cold camera + hot outside = steam-effect.

This picture, shows how our weather pattern has been going.  Sun - Rain - Sun - Rain - Sun - Rain.  When the rain is heavy, it knocks the flowers down.  -sigh-
Ever  start reading a book, and decide you can't really read all of it?  But you have to know "what's going on"  and "what happens"?  So you keep skimming ahead, until you have answered those 2 questions?

Hope so....  Because then, you can comprehend what I did, with "Room."    If you are intrigued, and want to know more about this book...  You can click on the click-able link....  "Room" .

Actually, this book, is an excellent example of what I said above....   That small children's understanding of "words," depends on what they have so-far-learned, in their short life-time.

Happy New Moon!  Or Happy Dark Of The Moon!

Tonight is what is referred to as the New Moon.  A New Moon occurs when the moon is positioned between earth and sun.  The entire illuminated portion of the moon, is on the back side, the half of the moon, that we cannot see.

Remember the old song...  Which goes like...  "No moon at all, it's so dark, ..."  :-)

Welcome June...!!! :-)

Susan Branch's Mini Calendar, make a lovely way to Welcome June...  :-)

Another gadget!  Which "Uncle A." has been wanting.  :-)  A French Press for a smaller afternoon cup of coffee.  We often watch "As Time Goes By," and they are always making coffee with a French Press.  So he wanted one, too.  -grin-   That's just the coffee cup, which comes with our dishes.  He wanted a different one, for his afternoon coffee, so we found one this morning.  We'll see how it "fits."

Yes, we lead a very quiet life...  -gigggles-  When we can get *hepped-up* about Kitchen Gadgets!

When one can only eat Goat Cheese, one keeps looking for new and different kinds of it.  Found this Maple Chèvre.  Nice...  And there is also Goat Cheddar Cheese to be found.  That's got a *punch* to it!!!!

Just some bubbles in the Bird Bath Fountain Pond, on a very hot afternoon...

And last but not least.....

Whoooo-hoooooo!  According to park rangers in New South Wales, Australia, dozens of giant, fluorescent pink slugs have been popping up on a mountaintop there.

I'm not a slug lover but!!!  Wow!  What a gorgeous addition to a garden?!?  -giggggle-

Finally, moving along...! ,-)

Today's post begins with *Artful Studies* Of a Wine Glass.  Port, actually.  -grinnnnn-

I poured a glass of Port last night, and thought!!!!!  Photo Op!!!     ,-)

Yes, I'm done now.    ,-)

Yesterday we did have snow....

Some nice BIG flakes, which I was actually able to *capture*!!!   But it turned to rain, and it's a wonder there is any snow left.  There is, and it's just soggy snow and gray-wet-looking out.

-chuckle-  What would we bloggers in Blog Land do, without our Local Weather Reports, hu?

On Wednesday, we finally got the old couch, out of our Den.  We've had it for a long time, but it is still in fine condition.  So our son (on the right) got his friend (on the left) to help him bring it over next door.  It's now down in the kid's play room, down cellar.  And will give lots more years of wear.

"Uncle A's" recliner in the Hearth Room, which he uses every evening, is no longer comfortable.  Sun. we FINALLY went and ordered a new one.  His old recliner will move into the Den, but the couch had to go first.

My Dear Readers know that our family does not seem to do-things-quickly.  lol.  So all this, has been in the "we-are-gonna'-do-it-stage", for months.  Finally!  It's commencing!  ,-)

I finished "Einstein's Dreams," and you can read more about it,  on my book blog,
by clicking on this click-able link.

Please may I ask...?  Have you Dear Reader, gone to my book blog ("Auntie's Reads 2013"), and checked on any book(s)?

I have No Comments Setting there.  To make it easier, on everyone.  But the Site Meter shows that some people are Visiting.

They could be people, who usually read here.  Or they could be people who just found it, by searching for books/reviews.

So, I ask...   Please and Thank you...

Full Snow Moon, and other interests... :-)))

Trying for a rather-BROWN  effect here.   I really feel I should tell you, what I am trying to do.  Because who knows what my whole blog looks like, on other computers?   ~~~~~~~~~~~          Which, if we let it, might convince us that it's useless  to try to have different Blog Looks.  -sigh-  What looks pretty good, to us, on our computer monitor, may not look ANYTHING like that, on our Dear Reader's monitors.    ~~~~~~~~~~~         Oh well, figuring out how to make my blog look different, now and then, is a big part of the Fun Of Blogging, for me.  So I shall continue to change!!!!!!!  :-)

And just-because-I-can....    I love, love, love the look of the above illustration.  LOVE IT!  -chuckle-  And I fully expect to not have many Dear Readers who agree with me.  -chuckle-  But, that's fine.  It's my blog.   Oh he makes me happy, just to look at him!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't forget.  Tonight is the Full Snow Moon...!  I saw it last night, when I got up to "tinkle" about 3AM.  It was so, so, so, so lovely.   Just had to stare at it, a while.  :-)  Which of course, messed-with my melatonin, and I couldn't get right back to sleep.  :-)  But it was...............  beautiful.   Please, if you can see it tonight in your area, please try to do so.

No, I don't even know who won the Oscars last night.  :-)  I'll look at Red Carpet pics, on the Net today.  I'll look for a picture of Kristen Stewart, since she was to be a presenter.  But I have no interest in the Oscars.   ~~~~~~~~~~~   If you had fun with the Oscars, hooray for you!!!!  I'm not knocking anyone's fun!  :-)   It's just that we don't.

It's "Pick On Your Husband" time!!! >,-)

If our blogs, show "slices of life," then today's entry, is focusing on "Uncle A."  -grin-

For breakfast, he had Peanut Butter and Banana, on an English Muffin.   Really!!!!   ,-)

As he said, it was a good way to use up a banana, which was well past its prime.  :-)

Ya' know that "Dos Equis" beer add?  With the sexy, older, Renaissance-type man...  Saying:  "I don't often drink beer, but when I do, it's Dos Equis."...

Look what kind of beer, "Uncle A." came home with today?!?!?!  -giggles-  Guess the add, finally "got to him."  -grin-

Yes, it's officially "Pick On Your Husband Time" in Pretty Blog Land!

Scroll down and read the words, after the 4th photo, in Vee's blog entry.  And tell me that she wasn't kinda' picking on John!  So I took the hint, and did some "Uncle A." themed photography today.  -gigggles-

Yes, we are lucky that we are married to men who are laid-back and put up with our......  *Interesting* blogging entries.  :-)

Now!  How about you Dear Readers???  How can you do a "Picking On Your Husband" blog entry????  Or to my handsome MALE Dear Readers, how could you do a "Pick On Your Wife or Best Friend" sort of a blog entry?  >,-)

It has to be the Moon!  There has to be something, going on with the moon, to *made* me do such silly blogging.   -heh-heh-heh-heh-heh-
