Sunday morning, it was snowing a bit, outside my window. You can't really see it falling, but it was. :-) I got so excited, that I decided to bake!
Made G/F Biscuits for myself.
And I made a Mincemeat Pie for 'Uncle A.' Not many in the family, like Mincemeat Pie, so this is for himself, alone! :-)
While baking...
...I noticed...
...an interesting "separation" illustration. I put 1/3 cup Canola Oil into the measuring cup first. And then added 2/3 cup Lactose Free Milk. The milk promptly went to the bottom, and the oil promptly rose to the top. And in the process, pretty oil bubbles formed. Soooooo, I ran and grabbed my camera and took advantage of another random Photo Op. ,-)
We've been talking about getting a small Crock Pot... One which makes food for only 2 people, approximately. Saw one. Got it. Pretty red. How could I resist? (Plus it was a good price) It's not automatic, like our big one. But we don't work all day, and need to program our Crock Pot. So, it will be fine.
I'll closed this post, with a close-up of a little bear-ready-for-bed ornament. Which we have had for a long time. :-) He is just sooooooooooooo cute. :-)
ELLEN in OREGON... Thank you for your insightful comment.
You should have a blog, you know. :-) I would love to regularly read, more of your wisdom. Please, consider it? And please, let me know, if you decide to do so. :-)
Gentle hugs,

i will continue to pray ... no quiet for me ... i will light a candle & continue to be happy & talkative in honor of those ones we have lost. GOD is loving them, holding them close, keeping them loved & feel so special. think of the beautiful & lovely Christmas they will have in heaven. ( :
Love that red crock pot
Auntie that pie looks MAGNIFICENT!!!!
I was shocked to read in my new crock-pot recipe book that every family should have multiple crock-pots in various sizes. It made sense and now you're up to two (at least). I think a smaller one for the two of us would be a good thing as well. Hmmm...
Oh I loved Ellen's comment. It makes such simple yet profound good sense!
i did not know they made 2 person crockpots. we don't have one and i never looked for one because it made to much. and this one is pretty to. love the photo op, you know i would have done the same thing. wonderful poinsettias in the sunshine.
Finally got my George Foreman grill. Now I need a crock pot. Love your little red one.

I just read Ellen's insightful comment. I agree 100%. I didn't post until Sunday afternoon and don't plan to be silent tomorrow.
I posted thoughts at FB Friday morning. Probably won't say more in a blog post. I think the tone of my most recent post says what I needed to say.
Most of my posts are spontaneous, so I don't have a post planned for tomorrow anyway.
Your biscuits and pie look wonderful! We have several crock pots. We just bought a new, large one. I made soup in it for our gathering, Saturday. We are talking about donating some of our others. We have them at home and at the lake. Sometimes I have several going at the same time when we are having company.
Thanks for dropping by the Back Porch.:-)
Ellen is right. Sooo right and what a pleasant and upbeat attitude about it all.
Now, I am going to be on the lookout for a bright RED crockpot. I have two already...one medium size and one larger. Now I see they need a baby sister...:))
Happy day, dear heart,
bj
I had to re-read your blog title twice... ???
"Snowing on the Sun?" I thought.
Hmmmm.
And then I saw the period.
Good one, my friend.
Your food photos are beautiful. I love your countertop, too!
I looked for you in the photo of the Christmas bear ornament...thinking your reflection might be in the ornament beside the bear. But....if my eyes missed the period in the abbreviation for 'Sunday' you know that those same eyes couldn't find you in the reflection. But I tried.
Have a wonderful day....
Hugs to you,
Jackie
Love the red crockpot. I love red anything so that's just perfect for me. Those biscuits look delicious and Uncle A's pie looks scrumptious. Ooooh, using the big words today. :)
Have a great day, Auntie.
Hugs,
Sharon
I have a recipe from my grandma that uses a jar of mincemeat in a cake and it's really good. I have never had a mincemeat pie!!
I have a little crock pot for two also. I like your red one.
You already know I loved Ellen's comment, but I'll say it again.
The baked goodies look delicious. Look at that pie crust!
I have 2 crockpots, but seldom use them. I just never think to for some reason. This is the season for soup, so I should get them out and use them.
Enjoy your day and stay warm!
SNOW? get out! send me some. 60 today here...ugh! i want winter! cute crock pot! i made mini mincemeat pies all day yesterday!
No snow here - just sunshine and spring weather! A far cry from the stormy rains of yesterday!
I love each and every one of your beautiful photos!
Ellen, I promise to be your first follower!!!
I have never tried mincemeat pie, but how lucky for your loved one that you made one all for him and him alone. :)
Well you know we've been enjoying our mini mincemeat pies here, I just wish we'd had some snow instead of more rain, it might feel more like Christmas! That big pie of yours looks delicious.
I wonder how many Ellens there are in Oregon. A lot I guess. There is one Ellen in Oregon who blogs at Growing Gills and is equally wise.
Your life size food photo's are killing me LOL....
Hooray for snow! Even a dusting is magical. We're forecast for up to a foot on Thursday - all my fingers and toes are crossed. :)
Adorable crockpot, and lucky Uncle A to get a pie all to himself!
You made that criss cross lattice pie????
