Snow! And "The Bacon Story"... :-)

Yes, I admit, we are no longer "The Land That Snow Forgot"!  :-)

We didn't get a "lot-lot".  But certainly enough, that it won't disappear with one day of sunlight.

Guess I had better share the "Bacon For Christmas" story...  :-)

Both these "Grands" love to have "Pop" (aka "Uncle A.") make them his "Toasted-Bacon-And-Peanut-Butter-Sandwiches", when they are over here.  LOVE 'em!  But neither of their households usually buys bacon.  So they can't recreate them (his "Toasted-Bacon-And-Peanut-Butter-Sandwiches") at home.  One year, we gave them each, their own package of bacon.  And now we HAVE TO remember to give this present to them, EVERY Christmas.  :-)

One of those silly-but-fun traditions, which go to make for fun at Christmas Time.   Does your Family have one of them, too??????????

Here come more.... :-)

.
Told you, I'd be sneaking in some more Holiday pics...  :-)

Always trying for the very best view!!!  ,-)  (My son is going to "get me" for this!)

This "Grand," is going-for-layers!

"A boy and his snake"...  Hand knitted by Aunt Lisa...

Their own package of BACON!   LOL...  "Don't ask..."  It's a tradition, for these 2.  ,-)

He SAID he wanted "A TRUCK"...  ,-)  But it will be better, outside in a sand box, when summer time comes again.

Oh and btw....  The boys all get hair cuts, next week.  -chuckle-

For now, I am loving this All-White-Blog-Background-Look here.  Who knows how long it will last, of course?  I usually *have to have* some sort of a perky Background going....   But having seen some All-White-Blog-Background-Looks, in Pretty Blog Land...  And having "loved-them-to-pieces", I'm trying it for a while.

Happy Boxing Day!!!

I loved my last Blog Look, so I am preserving it, on a post.  :-)
On Christmas Eve, the Little Train "quit."  But after the family had come over for "Pop's" traditional Fish Chowder, he replaced batteries and it was ready to go, again!!!
Even without the Toy Train, the smallest "Grands" still had fun, with *old* toys.
As I have already posted, we woke Christmas morning, to some snow!
We actually got some group shots!  Our beautiful and poised Grand Daughters...
Our beautiful and gooooooofy Grand Daughters...  ,-)
~~~
And that's enough, for today.  I'll sneak in some random Christmas pictures, in later posts.  But too many, are too many, all at once.  We each love our own family pics, dearly.  But not everyone else is quite as thrilled with them.  ,-))))))
Happy Boxing Day!
Boxing Day...  The day when Lucia and Miss Mapp  got washed away in a flash flood.  And ended up floating at sea, on an over-turned kitchen table.  -grin-
From a positively delightful old book "Make Way For Lucia"...  If you have never read this book, please, please, please rectify this *horror* (of not yet reading it), quickly.  It is a Joy!!!
Happy Christmas Eve... Happy Christmas...
Happy Christmas Eve...
Happy Christmas...
The holly's up, the house is all bright,
The tree is ready, the candles alight:
Rejoice and be glad, all children tonight!
Drop the "No Snow Moaning"!!! ,-) (Addition)
ADDITION, below...
Reading in Susan Branch's lovely blog...   She is not moaning about no snow.   There is no snow there, but she is not, not, not moaning about the lack of it.  She just keeps showing lovely indoor pics and talking about warm and homey things.
Hehhhhhhhh...  I should take a pointer from her.   I should stop, stop, stop with this moaning and groaning about no snow, no snow, no snow.  Listen up "Auntie"...  Drop it!  Moaning about no snow.  It's old, old, old, old, old.  And Dear Readers are tired of hearing it.
-happy sigh-  There!  That feels better!  Wheeeew...  Keeping my mind locked on a lack (of snow) is still HOLDING  ONTO  a  LACK.   What a silly, childish thing to do.
Wheeeew!   What a relief!   I feel like a big burden has been lifted off of my shoulders.
-happy sigh-  And what a lesson learned!
Pay attention to what we have!
Don't give any time/energy, to thoughts of what we don't have!
Traaaaaa, laaaaaaaaaaa....
:-)
ADDITION:
Wow, I just stopped moaning and complaining about no snow.
And....   Looked at our Weather Forecast...
And....  We now have days and days and days of possible snow showers, snow, or partly cloudy.
No rain forecast.
:-)))))))))
Look at this barometer!!!
Look at this barometer!!!  Last time I set it, it was where that gold pointer is, between 'Change' and 'Fair.'  On Friday, it is way, way, way, way, way down, where the black pointer is....  How much more LOW, can it GO?  Wow!!!!!
This barometer was a Christmas gift to me, from "Uncle A." a year or so ago.  It has turned out to be one of the best gifts!  I check it and set it and have so much fun with it.  :-)
Noticed this pretty picture, through one of the den windows, the other afternoon.  The Old Oak Tree was centered in pretty cloud/sky patterns.  One of those "Because I Can" pics, for sure.  :-)
 And this is the view out one of the den windows, on Friday.  Rain!  Rain!  Rain!  What weather for Yule...  -pout-
 Good thing I still have a picture I took, when the "above-shown-Christmas-time-plants" came...  I can't manage the spelling.  lol...  Our "Granddaughter" who is a Freshman in HS, was selling them.
Haven't had one in years.  Used to think they are poisonous.  But that's one of the myths, which has been set straight.  Click--->  They aren't.  And not all snow flakes are unique.  According to a recent article...  To which I can't find a link, right now...  So you just keep believing they all are unique, if you want to do so.  :-)
It's a good (blogging) thing, that Christmas is not far off.  I am really running out of things to take pics of.    :-)
I'm taking pics of silly things...   Like this wee little Santa ornament, shot with flash on.
"Oh!  holly branch and mistletoe,
And Christmas chimes were'er we go,
And stockings pinned up in a row"!
These are they gifts, December!"
I may have used this quote before, but it's very pretty.  Can be used again.  :-)
