Duck~~~Diff Pesto~~~"Stop Complaining"~~~

My point here, wasn't about Comments-Per-Say.  It was about having *zillions* more Visits, than Comments.  Which is pretty common around here.  But still "bugs" me a bit.  If people have the time to Visit/Read a blog (even on busy weekends), how come so few Visitors/Readers bother to even leave a tiny Comment?  ~~~~~~~~~   NO  ANSWER, I KNOW.

Duck on pool cover...

I found how to increase the size of how all print, shows up on my computer.  But now, I wonder if my Blog Print is showing up, as tooooooooo big????  In YOUR BLOG?  I know.  We can increase/decrease how blog print looks, on our screens...  But...  I still wonder....?  ~~~~~~~~~   And do you find it easy to increase/decrease all print, when you are on the computer?

We wanted to have Pesto And Pasta on Mon.   But didn't have the fresh stuff, one usually uses for Pesto.  Had Argula, so he made it, with that.  :-)  Interesting different taste.  :-)  He wants to try making Pesto with black olives too, which sounds yummy to me.     ~~~~~~~~~     And somewhere, it suggested putting Pesto on a baked potato.  Yessss!  No need for him to use butter!  :-)  Tonight, one of our 2 weekly fresh fish dinners, with a salad and 1/2 a baked potato, topped with Pesto.

(Pretty little walk-way, up the alley...)

-grin-  I begin this blog entry, by complaining.  And now I add...  STOP  COMPLAINING.  It's one of those "Hey-how-come-I-didn't-think-of-that" sayings!  ,-)

From Pg. 185 in "Clean" by A. Junger, M.D.

"Stop complaining" ........  I saw with a jolt how any complaint is really the expression of a negative emotion or state.  It gives the complainer a sense of immediate relief, even pleasure.........Complaining is like an exhaust pipe in a car, it lets out the pressure, relieving the complainer in the short term..........this negative energy pollutes your environment and is doubly toxic to the people  who are listening............Most complainers expect you to join them in their complaint. .............The apparent camaraderie that is generated by this interaction gives the one who joins the complainer a sense of immediate pleasure as well."

"...almost without exception, complainers and those who join them later on, when alone, feel depleted, somewhat depressed.  Most never put these two dots together and have no way of ever breaking this cycle of quantum toxicity, both personal and environmental."

Remind me of this, the next time I get *grumpy*!!!  -chuckle-

Complaining is a way of life, but until I read your post today I guess I didn't realize how upsetting it can be to others around us.

Love your terrific photos!!! Those trees look like "nature high rise apartments" :)

I never have trouble reading your blog, Auntie. Our blogs are our own creation and I say "make it your own"~~~

Auntie, I call complaining, letting off steam so we don't explode. Now if someone is always complaining they need some other outlet...bowling, golf, gardening. You know turn that steam into something productive. I saw that you have a woodpecker hotel there..we had one of the once, it was an old willow tree. Good eating this week. xoxo,Susie

The woodpeckers have been busy! I'd love to have the rocks in that last photo for a flower project I have in mind.

I need to get busy. Have a great day!

Your blog print comes to my computer just fine. It's larger than most blogs but easy to read. I seldom change my settings so I read blogs 'as is.' I have a ton of people who never comment and I forget how many people out there read until someone says something on Amber's blog, or sends me an email. SOME people are a lot more private than we bloggers tend to be. I count it as a compliment that they drop by and read. Plus sometimes I wonder (when I read others blogs - and I nearly ALWAYS try to comment!) what to say? If I wonder that - then some others may REALLY wonder!

I like the saying 'Don't sweat the small stuff!' No comments is no big deal in my opinion. I used to not have ANY comments at ALL!! I still don't have a large number of them and some people who have HUGE blogs and HUGE followers have a mere handful of comments on each post!

It IS what it IS!
Love your pretty pics!

So we should just say this: see April 30, 2013?

When I saw your photo of the duck in the little icon on my blog roll, I thought that you were featuring some new Johnson Bros dishes! These old eyes!

You and I have the opposite complaint...I have lots of comments, but few visitors. It's getting so bad, I'm not sure why I blog anymore. ; D Oops...see April 30, 2013!

No problem reading your blog. As far as comments, on one of my blogs today there have already been 243 page views...and not one comment. I look at it as 'at least people are reading it'. I'd love more comments, but there is nothing I can do about it.

Size of your print is fine on my computer. I find it very easy to make the print bigger when it's too small. I'd rather see too big than too small.

I love the picture of the walkway!!

I think your blog size is just right...looks good on my computer. I like your tree photo's. I like all the designs nature has carved into them.

Ooh, that pesto ... it looks delicious!

The commenting thing ... have you looked at your stats to see where all the non commenting people are coming from? Might help you make sense of it. But did you know that pro bloggers think that even if 10% of visitors comment that's really good going and 5% is perfectly okay in their eyes.

Pesto is wonderful on baked potatoes ... but then I love it so much I think it's wonderful on just about anything. Except perhaps ice cream.

Your type size looks just right to me.

I know what you mean about visits vs. comments. Just part of blogging, I guess. And I don't mind if you let off a little complaining steam. :)

I can only answer for myself Auntie, but when the topics switched to quite polarizing political topics & some comments that I felt were too revealing, I backed off commenting for a while. Kind of waiting the storm out & could not take additional anger about World events. When other chimed in, the tone seemed even more negative & I felt I leaned things about some people that I would have better off not knowing. Then when the comments almost seem one sided, it leaves those of a different opinion feeling outnumbered & unwelcome.
I told you when we met, that I feel strongly about saying whatever you desire when it is your blog. I was just surprised by the significant change in tone as were some others.

When I was growing up we had the old rule about not discussing politics or religion when in a large group. Sometime I think that advise is good when you are talking to a large audience with a wide range of opinions. When topics are emotional or heated ones, it is natural that you attract only comments from those who are in agreement with your opinion. If you have an opposing view it is not worth commenting about your different viewpoint because the other side will not consider your opinion anyway.
That is part of the general problem. People can no longer discuss these issues & remain civil. So the all you hear is those who reaffirm your beliefs.

People with different opinions/beliefs stop commenting because there comments would be unpopular & would only draw fire. So there was some connection between chronic negative topics and less commenting from some like myself.
I continued to check in (not lurking) daily to see if you were feeling less stressed or feeling a bit more positive and I see some of the frustration lifting the past couple of posts. I hate to see you so upset, because it damages your health far more than processed foods do. When people stop commenting sometimes it is the comment in & of itself. I owed it to you to offer some answer about this lack of comments since you brought up the issue.
Please let Uncle A know that when he has a large supply of herbs to make a large batch of fresh pesto that here is what I do to have it on hand through the Winter.
Make the recipe as normal, except leave the grated cheese out. I fill ice cube trays with sauce and after they freeze I pop them into Ziploc bags or plastic vacuum bags. then whenever you want, take out just the amount you need and add fresh grated cheese of your choice. They keep very well as long as you get the air out of the freezer bag.

Take care and remember anger is just as lethal as any other toxin. I get where you were coming from, but sometimes if you balance your spirit you gain some perspective.

Hello, my friend...
I love the walkway to the alley photograph. It is soooo beautiful. There isn't an ugly flower anywhere, to me!!
And pesto! Don't get me started. Love, love, love it. I don't usually eat (or love bread)...but give me pesto, and I'll change my tune in a heartbeat.
Continue to keep that smile going...your blog is wonderful, your photos are easy to see and are just fine!
Love,
Jacki

Are those qwoodpecker holes in that tree?? So neat. And your font shows up fine to me. I always feel that mine is too small.

I like your font because it shows up just right when I read on my phone which I do sometimes. Love the tree photo and the alley way.
I have always wondered if any one really even read my blog when I only got one comment or none. But I found out several read but don't leave a comment. Reason I was given... they couldn't figure out how to leave a comment, their email address didn't meet the criteria, didn't feel like they had anything to say... etc. Who knows really
