The forest, is a swamp...!!! :-(

I know this is nothing, compared to the flooding, in many places.

But the college land, across from us, overflowed last evening.  See it flowing????

What aggravates us is...  That the college has promised the home owners, who live near this lovely, old, wooded area...  That it would remain untouched.  But it has not.

It is becoming more and more of a swamp, because of college cutting trees, building buildings, and making parking lots.  And they are *supposed* to be SO  GREEN.....

OK, I got that rant out!

I hope all my fellow Citizens, are ready to Celebrate the 4th of July...

Still, with building and paving, there should be ways to take care of run-off. That's quite a lot of water.

We will celebrate some way, but it will be a quieter celebration.

i already had my 4th celebration playing with sparklers and my camera...our yard and street has looked just like this for the past few days, but yesterday we had 24 hours of not rain... now it looks like it is coming again.. but no water in houses so that is good.

That's a shame - but like so many "others," not all keep their word.

Looking forward to a 4 day weekend! Yep!!!

Have a safe and happy 4th!

What a mess! In fact, so far this whole summer has been a mess between the heat, humidity, and constant rain every day.

Auntie, People do not seem to understand water shed...our farmers drain the field , to get more crops...then the ditches never get dredged to help with the added water. A town south of us has always had flooding problems....and it has grown by 10 thousand, more houses, more paved roads, more parking lots...etc,etc. They tried to get by with the same sewer system from 30 years ago.Geech. There I got to rant with you LOL. Hope you have a great holiday. xoxo,Susie
