IS it POSSIBLE??????????????

(One blossom fell off...)

Saturday, we both woke up nice and early and got an early start.  Went out to store to get a bigger pot, for the beautiful Tuberous Begonias we got, for the front step.

They had expensive ones, at the Garden Shop, so we went elsewhere....  And found one, not so expensive.  -grin-

It gives the beautiful Tuberous Begonias, more room to grow!  We always have them here, on the edge of the front step.  The spot is less sunny, and they thrive there.
(First of his "Old Roses" to blossom...)

He planted in front.  We had gotten PINK Wave Petunias, for on the patio.  He planted them, too.  I puttered and pottered around, sweeping up potting soil which had fallen and etc., etc.

(Checking out the frogs , in the pond...)

THEN, I began to WEED in his front perennial garden!  ME!  I weeded!!!!!  Walked around in the garden and pulled up rogue weeds.  Cut 'em off if I couldn't pull them up.  IT WAS AMAZING!!!

(*BK*)

I have so much more energy and get-up-and-go!!!  I've been saying it's a residual effect of the Prednisone I had to take, when sick.  But by now...  A week later....  Doesn't seem that much P., can still be in my system.  So maybe, it is the Healthy Eating Effect!  Which those who Juice and etc., tell of?!?!?!?

(One big frog, so far...)

I hadn't though of this possibility (due to Healthy Eating) before.  As I have said, people who push Juicing and Healthy Eating SAY that they began to feel better...  Doing it.  But these claims sound kind of "far fetched."

So one does not want to believe too much hype.  I just wanted to remain arthritis pain free and know I am eating in a more healthy way.  But wow!  If Healthy Eating really is giving me more pep, I'll take it!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome June...!!! :-)

Susan Branch's Mini Calendar, make a lovely way to Welcome June...  :-)

Another gadget!  Which "Uncle A." has been wanting.  :-)  A French Press for a smaller afternoon cup of coffee.  We often watch "As Time Goes By," and they are always making coffee with a French Press.  So he wanted one, too.  -grin-   That's just the coffee cup, which comes with our dishes.  He wanted a different one, for his afternoon coffee, so we found one this morning.  We'll see how it "fits."

Yes, we lead a very quiet life...  -gigggles-  When we can get *hepped-up* about Kitchen Gadgets!

When one can only eat Goat Cheese, one keeps looking for new and different kinds of it.  Found this Maple Chèvre.  Nice...  And there is also Goat Cheddar Cheese to be found.  That's got a *punch* to it!!!!

Just some bubbles in the Bird Bath Fountain Pond, on a very hot afternoon...

And last but not least.....

Whoooo-hoooooo!  According to park rangers in New South Wales, Australia, dozens of giant, fluorescent pink slugs have been popping up on a mountaintop there.

I'm not a slug lover but!!!  Wow!  What a gorgeous addition to a garden?!?  -giggggle-

March "marches" in... ,-)

Susan Branch's Mini Calendar

"Remember Miss Piggy's words
to the wise and "Never eat
more than you can lift."

Btw, her calendar pages are really much more white/bright, than they show up here.  My camera and the kitchen over-head lighting, combine to make her calendar look very mellow-ish, yellow-ish, and dark-ish.  But....  'Tis not so!!!!!!!  :-)

I'd never have thought of beets or leftover potatoes, for Salad Toppings.  But if Susan sezzzzzzzzz so, betcha' they are good!  :-)))

And Dear Irma Bomback's quote;  "I worry about scientists
discovering that lettuce has been fattening
all along."

Finally got my hands on some MEAD!!!  Whoooo-hooooo...  Mead is the drink, to celebrate "The Old Ways."  And I've wanted it, for ages.

There's my Irish Crystal glass, with some Mead in it.  Looks rather like Sauterne.  And since it's made from honey, naturally it's sweet!  :-)  It struck me as sweet, with a hint of apple.  Although, it does not contain apple...   Wondering........?   Perhaps the bees, whose honey was used, have an apple orchard to gather nectar from!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And on the back label....   "...ancient family recipe..."    "...special celebratory Mead of old..."    "According to legend, Sweet Mead was served to eliminate the bitter taste of battle."

Now!!!  That's a drink, with a History.  :-))))))))

Started Brad Meltzer's "The Fifth Assassin" last evening.
I've never read any books by him, but we enjoy "Brad Meltzer's Decoded" on the History Ch.
Love all that "digging-into-mysteries-of-history-etc." kind of thing.  :-)  Do you Dear Reader, enjoy such, also??????????

I also started another book.
So we shall see....  Will one win out?  Or will I go on to read both of them?  :-)

Obviously, they are very different Fiction Genres...

A wolf... Books... Good news... Etc. ,-)ADDITION

Did you see "NCIS" on Tues. night?
Story line....Wow!
That actress who plays 'Ziva,'  what a marvelous actress she is!
Yes?

Please let me introduce Calif. lone wolf (OR-7) to you, Dear Reader.  I'm fascinated by Gray Wolves myself.  But even if you aren't (fascinated), don't you want to learn more about a Wolf, which has his own Twitter Account (tongue/in/cheek, of course)?  And here is a site, which looks more authentic...  GRAY WOLF OR7 - Updates on wolves migrating into California.
...
Cool!  Cool!  Soooooooooooo coooooool!  :-)

Finished "The Raven Boys" by Maggie Stiefvater.  Happily, she has another one (in this series) coming.  I've enjoyed her "Wolves Of Mercy Falls" series.  And her "A Gathering Of Faerie" series too.  Also have a hold on her "The Scorpio Races."

At the moment, I'm reading "Seraphina"...  As you can see from the cover, it's about humans and dragons.  :-))))

Quite awhile ago, I read "The Daughter of Smoke and Bone" and loved it!!!  It's wildly different!  But how could I not read a book, with THAT cover?!?  ,-)
Just found out that a sequel, is out.   "Days of Blood And Starlight"...  So I have that coming, at the library.  WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...  ,-)

Have any Dear Readers read any of these books??????

"Angela Lansbury and James Earl Jones, together onstage
in 'Driving Miss Daisy,' still relish acting in their 80s."

Isn't that wonderful to hear/read?  People still doing what they love, in their 80s.  What inspiration!  Really gooooood news!  And we need to notice any/all good news we can.  Because the "bad news" is coming at us, daily.  -sigh-

"I never had any other desire so strong, and so like covetousness, as that....I might be master at last of a small house and a large garden, with very moderate conveniences joined to them, and there dedicate the remainder of my life to the culture of them and the study of nature."

~Abraham Cowley
