Monday morning we did work-around-the-house. He vacuumed out the heaters, of our furnace, to de-dust them, before turning the furnace on... To be sure it would start, when needed. And I cleaned the bathroom, and the kitchen sink.
~
Then we took a little ride! Because the weather was nice... Or it had been sunny, in the morning. Clouded up around noon but no rain. A country ride wasn't as pretty, as in full sun but........ We want to take advantage of Fall weather, because Winter weather (not time for rides) will be here soon enough.
~
I finally asked myself; "Why can't I order a nice sandwich out, and simply not eat the bread?!?" Yeah, why not? Duhhhhh me. So we drove over to this cute little Cafe, and did just that!

When we came out, this great old car was parked in front of one of the other shops. So I had to take a picture of it. That particular car doesn't exactly *thrill me.* Other than for the fact that it is a classic.

(NOT my picture... Source of picture)
Then we got Mac Apples and Apple Cider at the big orchard, on the way home. And a flock of geese were flying around and *teasing* me... Meaning, I'd see them, and not be able to take a pic. Then I'd see them again, and not be able to take a picture. 3 times this happened. Grrrrr... LOL. Must watch overhead, during the following days. Because 'Uncle A.' saw a flock the other day, also. So they are obviously on the wing South.

Something we enjoyed, over the past weekend. :-) I can't drink much, or often. But it seems that some glasses of "Champagne," over a couple of days, is tolerated by my tummy. :-)))))))))))) Which makes me very happy. :-))))))))

Hi Auntie~
Sounds like you are having a lovely Monday... :0)
I love to go for rides, and you are right, Old Man Winter will be upon us before we can blink!
I really love seeing old, fixed-up cars, makes me think that there are still folks who love the old days... sigh ...
We have been doing some winterizing the last few days, just trying to get ready for the snow and cold that is sure to come. In fact, I have heard that it's suppose to be a terrible winter for the North West!
Love your header pic!
Hugs,
Barb
Sounds like a delightful day.
Love the 57 Chevy!!!
What a lovely day!! It is cool here in Texas today! Rain came in last night and it will only be in the 60's today! I am sortin gthrough my closet....changing out to Fall/Winter.
SO.....a sandwich without bread! Great idea! What KIND of sandwich? Hope it was extra good!
I appreciate old cars and love mac apples also.
Sounds like just a perfect day. We got away today and I'd like to get away before all the foliage is gone. Most is now. That's a good idea you had about just eating the innards of the sandwich...a salad of sorts. You could bring your own bread or crackers. Perfectly delightful header picture you have these days.
Such a delightful day. My girlfriend had a car just like that when we were teens.
Hope you are enjoying nice weather. It's getting a bit cooler, definitely sweater weather here in Massachusetts.

I just love your pictures of old houses - even if that isn't the main point of the photo. That car certainly is a classic. So nice that you got out and about for a day.
We've just a few things left to do before snow flies. (We've had the furnace on for about two weeks. It is running right now.)
Sort of random, but I think that the beautiful colored leaves "glow" on cloudy days. Sunshine seems to dull them. Maybe it is just me that thinks that.
Such a delightful cafe to stop in at, I love the way they've decorated their porch. My friend June does that all the time, she'll order a sandwich but not eat the bread! lol
Gotta love those vintage cars! Once a month over here, they have a Cruise Night at the local A&W and many people bring their classic cars to it. One of these days I must go and take pictures of them.
Every evening I hear the geese flying overhead in their V formation, heading south. Sometimes I wish I could fly with them and go where it's warmer! lol
I've only had champagne once and didn't care for it but then I'm not much of a drinker and don't even care for wine! lol A Pina Colada is about the only drink I'll have if celebrating a special occasion at a restaurant:-) xoxo
What a delightful day, dear one. So glad you enjoyed it.
xoxo bj
