On this "Monday Before Hanuka, Yule and Christmas", are you as happy and jolly as 'Mrs. Santa Claus' above???

I'm not quite as happy/jolly as she. But Echinechea seems to be doing a wonderful job of *cutting-my-cold-off-at-the-pass*. Thank you Dear Vee. (How *bad* is that? 2 pharmacists in the family, and I have not tried it before!)

Plus......... As you can see........ I am able to use my computer!
Oh we know, that we may soon have to get a new Mac. But the Week Before Christmas is not the time to try to find out what kind of Mac computer
I want next. I have no idea. And it will be a learning process, to use a new Mac, no matter what I get. -sigh- And I so don't look forward to that learning process. -moan- -groan- ,-)

........It was funny last evening, without a new "Once Upon A Time" episode. I've gotten used to watching/following this new tv show. But these weeks around the Holidays, are too busy, I think... They don't put new episodes on, because people may not have the time to watch them.

I love reflections of our little Tree, in the patio door windows. I see this, sitting in my favorite chair in the Hearth Room. :-)

Just reading an article in the paper, about "favorite Christmas toys," and it got me thinking... Guess my fav would be the Bride Doll I got one year. I probably wanted one... And later learned that my Mother had made the bridal dress, etc., for her. She was an excellent seamstress, especially with "small" things. (And before you ask, I am not.)
I could take my beautiful new Bride Doll to Mass with me, on Christmas Morning. :-) :-) :-) :-)

Your bride doll sounds very special. My favorite was a little doll about eight inches tall who had a pixie haircut like my six-year-old self. She wore an outfit my mother had knit.
So glad that you tried the echinacea and that it is working. I'm just noticing spell check here. It doesn't like my spelling so I went off and checked it on the dictionary, which tells me that this is correct. I also see that it doesn't always care for contractions.
Reflections are always so interesting and whether reflected or shown your tree is lovely!
I am so glad your computer is on the mend! It's hard to buy a new one because everything changes so much! Your Christmas tree pictures are beautiful!
Your house is lovely. Always love seeing your photos. Sorry to hear of your pre-Christmas cold, but echinacea does work. Take it myself when I have a cold. That and plenty of hot, spicy ginger tea.

Good morning, Auntie - glad to know you're feeling a bit better. That Vee - she's good for lots of good info, isn't she! I've tried echinacea before and it's helped take the edge off but I guess a cold usually just has to run it's course. It's either gonna take a week OR 7 days no matter how you look at it!
Your home looks very festive and ready for the party-ing and Christmas-ing to begin!
My 3 kids now have Macs, and they love them. I haven't gotten on them, but I think I'd like one next time. I can just hear it now - you'll have lots of new and interesting posts when you get your Mac and start learning to use it! Maybe there'll be some great sales AFTER Christmas!
Have a wonderful week and keep up that echinacea!
I can't believe it....I too rec'd a bride doll for Christmas once...from Santa. I so wanted one. But you dear lady, to have your mother make her clothes...well, I'm jealous. Mine was store bought. In fact, I still have my doll...packed away. Golly, it's going on 50 years or more. In fact, I blogged about here long ago.
And your window reflections of your tree and lights...beautiful. [I must admit tho, your glass windows are a heckuva lot cleaner than mine]. Your room...it just glows with warmth and a familial ambiance. That too is beautiful.
Really enjoyed your post today.
The Goatmother says the thing with Echinacea is that you should begin it when you first feel a cold coming on (for lady above when it didn't seem to work). Also, tincture is the absolute best way - pills are okay, but the more processed an herb is, the less effective. Still something better than nothing. Glad it is helping you, Auntie! Gotta' be ready for Christmas! By the way, the Goatmother doesn't have to do anything to get me on my stump. It is just what I do and besides, it is where I do all my deep philosophical thinking. Gotta' have some place away from the maddening crowd. ") Your photos always make one feel 'homey' and warm.
So glad that you are feeling better. I love the shots of the reflections of your tree THEY TURNED OUT WONDERFUL. I so look forward to your posts and your stories, they make my heart smile. (o:
Pretty photos. I love the moon and trees and the glow of the sun is gorgeous.
Oh, your tree is lovely Auntie!
I'm enjoying my new MAC...and it's so easy to learn!

I got a 2 foot tall bride doll when i was 8 years old, that would be 59 years ago. it was wonderful. love that reflection pic. also love the old oak tree and the gorgeous sky behind it, but you can have the 23 degrees. we were fussy when we got up to 50 this morning.
Shouldn't be too hard with a new mac. They sure make it easy!! One reason i love them.
Nice shot of the moon! Your sky is prettier than mine!
I'm glad you are feeling better. Love the photo of the 'Oak Tree'.
What a beautiful post! Love the shots of the oak tree.....the reflections from the lights on the one outside.....your charming mantle.....all beautiful snapshots of your Christmas 2011.
Glad you are feeling better!!
An old remedy we used was the Netti pot! With all the new info and warnings I am not sure we will use it again.....ever!!!
Amber has a Mac. She loves it. Just got it this year. Most professionals (as she is) use one.
You are in good company! They say they are the BEST!!
Echinacea, Air-borne or generic form and Zicam are great. I use the latter 2 and never get sick. Nipped a cold in the bud this way just last week, I might add!
Glad yours was nipped in the bud too!
A beautiful tree and the reflection in the window just adds to it all.
Glad you are able to use the computer...
We have used Echinacea for years....works great.
xoxo bj
The photo of your tree reflecting in the window is stunning. As we get older one of the best things in our life is happy memories. I so glad you once received your bride doll as that special gift. Merry Christmas. Stella
