In my neck of the woods...

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

And it was all melted, the other day.....

The Old Oak Tree........   Which is always beautiful.......

Ugh......  But!!!   I know!!!   See the pristine beauty.  Enjoy the clarity, of few competing colors.  Drink in the crystal stillness.  ~~~~~~~~~  Yeah, yeah, yeah...  -pout-

Happy St. Patrick's Day Weekend, to you!!!

Staying calm... Asking a QUESTION...

More snow.  Nothing like others in the NE, are waking up to this morning, though.

Nope, I'm not moaning or groaning.

It's pretty useless, to moan and groan, about more snow.

We'll be happy to have the back-up supply of water, this summer.

I'm warm inside.  Perhaps I'll even BAKE the G/F MUFFINS, which I've "been-going-to" bake, for a week now.  Lol.

The Old Oak Tree is quite majestic, in this setting.

Puffy snow, like whipped cream, is pretty.

As long as it doesn't take down power lines....

Got a new Fireplace Screen, on clearance, yesterday.  We built this house about 45 years ago.  Got a pretty Fireplace Screen and have never replaced it.  For years, it's been deteriorating...  Screen coming out of frame and biting my fingers, when it's moved.  Seeeeeeeeeeeee???  We do take a long time, to dooooooooooo some things, around here!  LOL.

QUESTION...

Can you easily read, the Font, I am using???????????

Look at this barometer!!!

Look at this barometer!!!  Last time I set it, it was where that gold pointer is, between 'Change' and 'Fair.'  On Friday, it is way, way, way, way, way down, where the black pointer is....  How much more LOW, can it GO?  Wow!!!!!

This barometer was a Christmas gift to me, from "Uncle A." a year or so ago.  It has turned out to be one of the best gifts!  I check it and set it and have so much fun with it.  :-)

Noticed this pretty picture, through one of the den windows, the other afternoon.  The Old Oak Tree was centered in pretty cloud/sky patterns.  One of those "Because I Can" pics, for sure.  :-)

And this is the view out one of the den windows, on Friday.  Rain!  Rain!  Rain!  What weather for Yule...  -pout-

Good thing I still have a picture I took, when the "above-shown-Christmas-time-plants" came...  I can't manage the spelling.  lol...  Our "Granddaughter" who is a Freshman in HS, was selling them.

Haven't had one in years.  Used to think they are poisonous.  But that's one of the myths, which has been set straight.  Click--->  They aren't.  And not all snow flakes are unique.  According to a recent article...  To which I can't find a link, right now...  So you just keep believing they all are unique, if you want to do so.  :-)

It's a good (blogging) thing, that Christmas is not far off.  I am really running out of things to take pics of.    :-)

I'm taking pics of silly things...   Like this wee little Santa ornament, shot with flash on.

And Christmas chimes were'er we go,
And stockings pinned up in a row"!
These are they gifts, December!"

I may have used this quote before, but it's very pretty.  Can be used again.  :-)

Lately, I've been waking at..........

Lately, I've been waking at 6am.  Opening the shade by my side of the bed, and laying there, watching the sunrise.  Well, the wee little bit of sunrise, which we get in this house.  Trees near and far, hide the full sunrise/sunset.  But I see a spot, out my window, where the sky (between trees and over a roof) begins to lighten.   Then it turns various shades of gold and golden pink.

I come down and get the coffee/decaf going.  And can see the sunrise proceeding (the rosey-bit, seen through the trees), from my south-facing kitchen window.  And the Old Oak Tree greets me, every morning.  :-)

I also like to get up, well before sunrise.  Come down when the outside world is still dark.  I like to open the shades, and see my kitchen lights, bouncing back at me, from the windows.  When outside is black, inside lights reflect, and it looks cozy, to me.  :-)

Yesterday, while "Uncle A." was fixing the tiles in the front hall...........   I was baking again!  I tried making  G/F Biscuits.  But I didn't have G/F Bisquick, which I thought I had.  So I used another G/F Baking Mix and kind of adapted the original recipe.   Mmmmm, they don't look all the great.  But they taste ok, so who cares?  ,-)
I used some of that mixture, to top a G/F Blueberry Cobbler for me....  It's really a little one, made in a little glass casserole.  And then I made Cranberry/Orange/Nut Muffins for "Uncle A."  NOT G/F, of course.   :-)
Then I put the Cobbler in the refrig.  Bagged the Muffins and Biscuits, and froze them.  When we want one, we take it out and microwave it a bit.  They stay fresher, this way.

If you remember, I've been hooked on an older Brit tv show called "Pie In The Sky"...  And I want to take a look at "Rosemary and Thyme."  Both these can be gotten from my Library System.  Well, I went to amazon, and asked for a list of British tv shows.  Up came a *zillion.*  I'd read  up on them, then if I liked it, I looked it up on my Library System Net site.  My System has loads of them!!!  Hoooray!!!!!

(Source)
Above is from "Wodehouse Playhouse" and has 2 favorite actors of ours...  Double Hooray!!!!!
I can actually see how people could do away with cable, keep tv, and rent old shows to watch.  :-)  And renting from Library doesn't cost, like from Net Flix, etc.  (Our taxes pay for the Library of course but.....)  No, we won't be getting rid of cable, because there are things on cable, which we want to watch.  But!  No more need for those times when the general opinion is; "There is NOTHING to watch, on tv!"  :-)
Of course, I always have books to read, so tv is not that much of a necessity.  But...  I'm so glad I finally took a look at what my Library System has to offer, as to tv rentals.  :-)

Happy Hanukkah!!!

Our oldest 'Grand', our beautiful Kate, arrived home from college, late yesterday afternoon.  -happy sigh-  Now we are all in our "Home Town."  :-)  She has been taking exams...  The last one was Mon. morning.  Now she can R-E-L-A-X...  :-)

I finally got some "stain remover" to put on those pesky food stains, which we seem to get on clothing.  (Near as *bad* as little kids, we are!!!  -sigh-  -grin-)  The stuff you dab on the spot, before washing it, and let it sit for a bit.  ~~~~~~  Well I realized that I finally had a PLACE to DO things LIKE this.  There's a  built-in counter, in our (kind of new-ish) tiny Laundry.  Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...  ~~~~~~  Yes, I do get excited over little things, don't I?  ,-)

Yesterday/Mon. was my Teeth Cleaning and Dental Check-Up.  All is fine!  Hooray and Merry Christmas, to me!!!  Today/Tues. is my hair trim.  And Wed. is my yearly *Girl-y-Bits" Checkup.  ,-)   Then I'll be done with appointments for 2011.  ~~~~~~  Still have to find a small calendar for 2012.  Our down-town Borders, where I used to get it, closed this year.  Went to other book store and they did not have any selection of small ones.  Neither did our down-town Hallmark Store.  Today, after having my hair trimmed, I'll have to check out those Seasonal Calendar Sales, at the Mall.   If all else fails, I can send away for one, of course.

My Christmas quote for today (below), is from one of my most favorite Holiday DVD's...  "A Child's Christmas In Wales."   Do you watch this?  Oh it is a classic!  A beauty!  Transporting one back to a time in the past.  Just delightful.  I love it!!!
