Photos, from past years... And Wonderings...

Yes, I'm posting photos, from past years...

Haven't gotten down street to take this year's pics of toy store "Geewilikers," this year.  So, I use some, from another year past.

I do my decorations a bit differently, each year.    I really like the effect of the Faerie Lights here, from another Christmas Time.  But it is getting harder and harder to get Faerie Lights, in a soft white.  The new ones we have, are very bright white.  Even if they look-like-muted, before you buy them.

More 'Geewilikers' windows...  A past year...

The clock is ticking along now.  We continue on through the darkest part of the entire year.  Thursday will be the Eve Of Yule.  And Yule will be on Friday.   Only then, on the Winter Solstice, will the days begin ever-so-slowly to lengthen.  And Darkness's hold on the Earth, will begin to wane.

This is what I was really looking for!!!  Going through winter posts, in old blogs...  Pics of SNOW!!!!  -sigh-

I have heard the term 'Crisis Energy,' for the first time this year.  "This time of year has a crisis energy to it and people react to that whether they believe in it or not. It’s almost funny, you know? People are at the mercy of energy they don’t believe in, probably in large part because they won’t accept that it’s real and take measures to control their reaction."

And with the sad, horrible events we have been experiencing, both in my area (a terrible car crash killing and injuring young people) , and nationally......    I certainly wonder if there really is a form of 'Crisis Energy,' happening in the world, at this Time of Darkness.   And most of us are completely unaware of it...  And thus, unable to deal with it...

Sorry to "go-all-dark-and-deep" on you.  So here is something else from the past.  "Auntie" in a "Mrs. Santa" bonnet.  ,-)

You look too sweet to be having such deep thoughts. I am sorry about a tragedy hitting your community. These things are so upsetting. Now I have not noticed the light situation because I have the amber colored ones, which look warm and not cool. Of course, the tree is pre-lit and it does have the white lights. I must look and access how "intense" they are. I will be so glad for the lengthening days and I have been so grateful for the lights of Christmas.

Haha I loved the 'Geewilikers' window. And I'm still jealous that you're getting snow and we're not! On a more serious note though, I am sorry to hear about the tragedy in your community.

I;m like you I don't like the harsh light form the LED lights - too glaring.

Sorry to hear about the young people - our Fireman sees things like this all the time. It's something that he can "deal with" on a daily basis and I'm not sure how he does it.

Merry Christmas!

I love the name Geewilikers for the store! I haven't heard that said in a long time.
Your photos are lovely. I love candles and lots of lights. And you look like you are enjoying the season in your bonnet!
I'm sorry to hear of the tragedy. So sad anytime of year, but doubly hard just before Christmas, I think.

The thoughts are great, the pictures are too. Your camera is really good at getting pictures in the dark, mine won't have it (and I keep trying to reason w/it but it won't have any of that either ;) ).

Love the Mrs. Santa cap. :)

Geewilikers! I love it!

This, for me, has always been the time of year for deep thoughts; I find it tends to ward off going into 'crisis' mode. Perhaps it's because I was always looking forward to my Dad's birthday; he would have been 86 on Saturday.

Have a Happy Holiday and be just as thoughtful as you like.

I want to let you know how much joy you have brought to me this past year. I share your love of celebrating the holidays & decorating. This year I have had many surgeries and, for the first time as an adult, I was not able to do anything to make the house look festive. Thankfully, you have provided me with a way to live vicariously through your amazing decor inside & outside.
I appreciate that you are cheerful, thoughtful, realistic, funny and generous. Your blog seems to have attracted readers who have the same traits and I enjoy their comments with every posting.
I also appreciate all the effort it takes to make your blog happen. Have a wonderful Christmas & I look forward to another year of Auntie Sezzz!
