♥ Our Granddaughter and her Mother, told us...

On October 18th, 2010, I posted the following, in the blog I had, at that time.
Titled "I promised spooky stories, of my old city...,-)"

Above, is a picture of a beautiful old home, which was renovated, and used by a publishing business.  One of our daughters-in-law worked there, for some years. Her office was on the third floor. (Was this attic, originally maybe servants' quarters? Don't know.)

One day when our Granddaughter was in middle school, she and her friend walked over there, after school one day, and went to her mom's office. Then her mom and all the employees went to a conference meeting, down on the main floor. Our 'Grand' and friend, were drawing (up in her mom's office) and all of a sudden, heard the sound of heels clicking on the floor, outside the office. So they went and looked, and no was there.
So they went back to drawing, in the back office. Came the clicking sounds again. Again, no one was there when they looked. They naturally told her Mom, when she returned from the meeting. And her Mom said; "But you couldn't have heard any heels clicking on floor up here. It's all carpeted."  ,-)

And there is more....

One Sunday, this daughter-in-law had to do work in her office, and of course, no one else was in the building. So she took their black Lab 'Ruby' with her, just to be on the safe side. As I said previously, her office was in back of top floor, and she and 'Ruby' went up the stairs to the 2nd floor. D-in-law climbed up the stairs to the 3rd floor. But 'Ruby' got agitated and would not go up those stairs. So our d-i-law let 'Ruby' lie at the bottom of the 3rd floor stairs, while she went up and did her work.

Why was a big dog like 'Ruby,' seemingly afraid to go up to the top floor???  What did 'Ruby' sense? I trust an animal's instincts, as pretty pure.   What had happened up there, once upon a time? Something sinister perhaps?  Hmmmmmm........  ,-)

Kitty..."Hugo"...Leaves...Stories...

(Source)

This is "Bad Kitty," "BK", "Lucy", up close and personal.  She who you have seen in my  blog before.  But across the lawn, sitting in the window of the back porch, next door.

Being a kitten, she didn't stay still long enough for me to get good pics.  But she is nearly still, in this one.  Very friendly and cute.  But I can't pet either cat much...  Or it will mess with my allergies big-time.  -Blahhhhhhh-

"Hugo"  Charming...!  If you haven't seen this DVD,  I suggest you do.  :-)

I read the book, on which it is based, and wanted to see it, in a theater.  Then didn't...  But our library system has it, and I got it and we watched it last evening.  As I said...  It is charming...!

Something from an Oct. post, from some year in the past...

I really have to get going around and taking pics of local houses, decked out for both Autumn and Halloween.  I see them, and either I don't have my camera or....  There is too much traffic to stop in the road.  Ahhhhh yes!  'Tis another time of the year, when "Uncle A." has to put up with;  "Can you stop?!?  Beautiful flowers there in front of that house!!!"   -chuckle-

Autumn beauty, from a past year...  -sigh-

This year, not as brilliant...

Another picture, from a past year...  One of the beautiful old homes, in my city.

The iron fence in front of this old house, is said to have a hot-spot on it...  Spooooooky...  ,-))))  I love, love, love old stories about old places.  Love 'em.  But not everyone wants to read them.  So if I copy/and/paste the entry about this fence, from an old blog of mine, I'll put it at the bottom.  Then Dear Readers know that it might be longer, than what I write in my regular post.  But if they are in the mood for a story, they can read it, at the bottom.

A Place For Spooky Stories, From Our Old City

The fence/house pictured above...
This is another beautiful old home, on the same street, as the above house  (That, I will tell, another day.) It has a black, iron fence in front.  There is a story, that some part of that iron fence was supposed to be warm to the touch, even in cold weather. Dummmmmmmm-de-dum-dum....  ~~~~~~  It wasn't warm yesterday.   I checked one spot anyway. If I do research and find it is a particular (hot) spot, I'll be sure to go back and check! Maybe on Halloween night, hu?  ~~~~~~   Mmmm, maybe NOT on Halloween night.
